Why is Israel allowed to have nuclear weapons but Iran cannot

47 posts in this topic

Hello

I have noticed that many peopel are pretty clear about Iran not getting nuclear weapons.

Normally I can agree that the less nuclear armed states the better because they are very dangerous and destructive

However, they do not say anything about Israel having ILLEGALLY nuclear weapons and never even admitting to having them

I understand the logic that (they are our allies meanwhile Iran is our enemy) but I am talking purely from an objective unbiased perspective.

They aren’t. But they haven’t officially admitted to having them.

”The General Assembly votes on a draft resolution titled "International Day of Peaceful Coexistence" during the 58th plenary meeting of the General Assembly.

The representative of the United States again said that his delegation will vote no, expressing concern that the resolution "advances a programme of soft global governance that is inconsistent with US sovereignty".

The Assembly adopted the resolution by a recorded vote of 162 in favour to 3 against (Argentina, Israel, United States), with 2 abstentions (Paraguay, Peru).”

lol not all Jews are white, but yeah I get the idea. The state of Israel and the top positions are mostly filled by European Jews. This was always the case. When Israel formed with the help of the British empire, they essentially needed a European island in the Middle East to keep on eye on the affairs of the region. Many of the early leaders of Israel were in high positions in European society before that, and many often played a role in colonial missions on behalf of many of these European powers. Giving them power over a land with the harmless intention of wanting a Jewish homeland gave the western powers relief, in that they always have “second eyes” in that region. What I’m saying is that Israel is basically a continuation of a European imperial government, just run by Jewish individuals rather than Christian individuals. Even non European Jews suffered a lot during the early years of Israel nationhood. Discrimination against Arab Jews was commonplace, along with burning of entire villages and forced assimilation. Look I’m not undermining antisemitism and the pain and torture Jews have felt in Europe for centuries, but I also think cultural norms are a thing. The European Jews at the time of the creation of the Israeli state held very Eurocentric, colonial attitudes about the local population at the time.

another note - I am not against a state for the Jewish people. I believe the Jewish people are in the right to trace their roots to this land, as most Jews do have Levantine dna, even if it’s from thousands of years ago. However the model that the state of Israel is following is still a Eurocentric, imperialist model, one to serve western interests in the region.

It’s good when enemies have nukes to avoid direct conflict.

Like

US, Russia

India, Pakistan

Israel, Iran

Greece, Turkey

Canada and Ukraine need nukes for sure.

Dude it’s not about color. There are white Iranians and brown Iranians.
In Syria we lived as black, brown and white and I didn’t even know what “race” is until coming to the US.
I always identified as Syrian.

The ancient Assyrians primarily spoke and wrote the Assyrian language, a Semitic language (i.e. related to modern Hebrew and Arabic) closely related to Babylonian, spoken in southern Mesopotamia.[40] Both Assyrian and Babylonian are generally regarded by modern scholars to be dialects of the Akkadian language.

Maybe Iran having the thing will calm down Israel aka bibi and his rascals.

The argument for Iran not developing nukes is that if they develop nukes, other states in the Middle East will want to have them as well. That could further destabilize the region.

And there is a risk that such a weapon might "accidentally" fall into the hands of an extremist group.

But if only Bibi has the bomb then it’s a very one sided game.

And the same can be said if they have it then other actors in the region want it.

This was always only a question of time.

@Hayato I mean destabilisation a strange word in this topic it would either cause a nuclear war or much more stabilisation.

Anyone who says they’re enlightened on this form in anyway is not, except me I am.
