Feminine vs Masculine Energy

11 posts in this topic

Let's brainstorm on the essence, the most foundational and abstract aspects of feminine and masculine energy.
What are the major distinctions that better define these two concepts?

To start, here is a board I found in my old notes.
What would you add or modify?

This graph is pretty weird.

You need to think of the more passionate side of males, like cracking each other over the head with rocks as caveman or having sex.

I don't think "worry of death" is a female thing since women tend to have a more intuitive belief in spiritual or non-rational stuff.

@The Crocodile That's true I would call that overt confrontation vs covert communication.

I don’t react to the world—I shape it.

Emotionally safe, financially solid, and socially respected

This man has it handled. I trust him. I want to be in his world.

I can create safety, structure, and direction for myself and others—financially, emotionally, socially. I don’t need to control, because I create gravity.

I had a conversation with ChatGPT earlier on what it means to be a provider male and these are the key points that I resonated with.

It also might be worth thinking of not just polarity between femininity and masculinity but unity of them within self.

Like Jung talking about the divine hermaphrodite. Or how in pranayama the feminine or lunar energy of the Idmixes with the masculine or solar energy of the Pingala.

Many curanderos and "shamans" and so on have been reported to be very androgynous because it's not about the polarity or duality of the masses but about their own individual internal balance.

Back hundreds of thousands of years ago with the denisovans, neanderthals, and sapiens around cavemen all would have had long hair and would not be "muscular" like Arnold Schwarzenegger but still have better coordination than you and be able to crack you over the head very quickly. And the women would not have shaved, not have makeup, be covered in dirt, be more muscular, etc.

Nowadays the duality is being challenged at a explicit social level.

What does that mean though?

Sexual polarity is one of the best things about life and I do agree that it's good to integrate qualities typically representing the other sex like men with strong emotional intelligence but I don't know what it would turn you androgynous.

I'm starting to work with a lot of attractive women and I have to think of them as my bros otherwise if I got turned on by all of them it would be disastrous to my business, idk if that's related but practically thats where I encounter an issue with sexual polarity.

It means dropping resistance to the archetypal Masculine and Feminine within yourself and allowing whatever is to be there.

This produces the Divine Child of new potentials in you that are similar to, different from, and greater than your Masculine or Feminine side alone.

But it's not about losing your sexual polarity.

With that logic, it would be like "If I wanted to have a Masculine son, then he has to only have a father and no mother."

The integration of your inner opposites can only ever make you a more potent version of yourself.

@Emerald makes sense, I agree

I'm working on not supressing my emotions so much and learning to own them, it's quite challenging but feels mostly good overall

Yin energy is feminine

Yang is masculine

Yin is receptive, passive and Yang is giving, active.

It's really that simple!

I had a cool experience in a recent trip where it felt like I could acutely experience masculine versus feminine energy inside me through tensing muscles vs relaxing muscles.

If you tense all of your muscles as hard as you can right now, that's a fundamental expression of masculine energy. If you totally relax your muscles as much as you can, that's a fundamental expression of feminine energy.

This also applies to focusing mind vs relaxing mind.

You can transfer this to spirituality as well. Masculine forms of meditation usually involve focusing hard + contemplating while feminine forms of meditation are more about totally relaxing your mind and letting it wander. Neither is better than the other, they're just different approaches.

I think the most fundamental insight here was something like "masculine = spending energy, feminine = conserving energy". I don't know if conserving is the right word exactly, but hopefully it's clear what I'm getting at.
