What to do after overeating

113 posts in this topic

Let’s say you overate and feel very full. Except for staying hydrated (but not drinking too much water as that could exacerbate the discomfort) what could help in digestion and easing the uncomfortable fullness? The answers might be helpful for others too, as most of us probably over eat occasionally.

Going for a walk speeds up transit and reduces this sensation.

Coffee can also help, everything that speeds up digestion.

Where I am, it is common to consume a little strong alcohol to "digest"; I wouldn't be able to say if it is relevant.

Not binge just overate. I was with a friend that I hadn’t met for a long time and we bought snacks then I ate dinner (hadn’t eaten proper food all day) plus my sister baked something so I ate that too it just became a lot in a short time

@Schizophonia do you ever overeat or do you have always good appetite and discipline?

This can happen to me, for example, if I eat at a restaurant and force myself to eat.

I don't worry too much about food; I eat what I want at the pace I want.

Why do you have to force yourself to eat? Aren’t you hungry or dislike the food?

Good that you don’t worry about it, I don’t “worry” either but I still care

I don't know, it's compulsive, OCD or something like that.

Yes, you said you were drinking several times.
Nevermind, maybe I misunderstood something, not a big deal.

If I’m eating out I’m choosing something I love and am excited for it so can’t relate at all😹

I did drink at home some month ago when I wrote about it in forum. But apart from that almost never.

Oh, I wasn't talking about when I go to a restaurant. I meant that in everyday life, I snack a lot even if it's not pleasant, "because I have to" for some obscure reason.
It's not very sexy lol, but I also have a slightly autistic tendency to "eat things in pairs," or things like that..

I like going to restaurants. In my town there is an excellent Thai restaurant and another equally good Chinese restaurant. I go there regularly with my father.
