Why do rumors still run us so much?

6 posts in this topic

Sharing rumors is kind of funny, demonized and ridiculed, especiallly in spiritual and woke communities, but it is really one of the simplest, raw and human things to do.

What's wrong with rumors? Why do we have so much judgment against it?

You don't want to give rumors too much credence because then you are giving power to the spreading of false information that is typically biased and derisive. It's bottom of the barrel quality information.

We judge rumors harshly because they leave us defenseless. Without solid evidence, we can't effectively argue against false claims about ourselves or others. It's this inability to mount a proper defense that makes rumors particularly troubling - they spread accusations that can't be properly challenged. Yet they also feel so personal and true, it's like quicksand disguised as solid ground, pulling you in tighter and deeper the more you struggle against them.

Humans are apes throwing shit at a wall competing with eachother to see who can throw their shit the highest.

Even the philosophers and artists are just apes who've discovered they can mould their shit into a statue of Jesus
