Something Funny

Atheists being even more close minded than christians.

16 posts in this topic

Inspired by the Leo's video, I've made two posts on reddit. One on a Christian subreddit and another one on atheist subreddit.

I've asked christians why do they assume that scriptures are true and atheists whether they are willing to admit that they don't actually know if God exists and that they belief that God doesn't exist is not so different from theists believing that God exists.

And I've actually god some interesting responses on the christian subreddit, with some people admitting that yes, this is an assumption and that we don't really know. Some people saying that they've been questioning their faith and christian dogma. Some referring to direct experiences.

Also, notably everyone was nice and polite.

From atheists I just got a bunch of ridicule and straw-man responses like "Why don't I start questioning whether spider man is real", immediately conflating my position with defending religion, and banning my post for proselytizing, lol. Even though I did my best to not make any statements about whether God exists or not, just questioned the automatic assumption that he doesn't and posed a purely philosophical question.

I find this really interesting because I expected to get the opposite reaction.

I guess this could be due to the fact that many christians on reddit are actually closer to stage green christians than to maga conservative christians. And atheists are mostly stage orange materialists, who don't even care about existential questions of philosophy much.

Chronically online keyboard atheists are some of the biggest epistemic scoundrels.

Debating them is like wresting an oiled pig.

These are the same scoundrels who run RationalWiki.

An atheist subbredit, people that just talk about atheism? Doesn't that imply their uncertainty, or they are just there to make fun and debunk theism.

Most posts are just "religion is bad", "look how dumb those christians are", etc.

epistemic scoundrels.

I like that you’ve coined this term- would you agree that it encompasses everyone who thinks the Actualized teachings are a waste of time ? xD

Seems to be a biased assertion-but a healthy one relative to Truth seeking

It doesn't need to be about Actualized.org. It just means anyone with bad epistemic standards, like Alex Jones or Professor Dave.

I have a long list of epistemic scoundrels.

Reddit atheists are top of that list.

Makes sense- my intro to developing epistemic standards was through your channel-my baseline. Couldn’t imagine doing it without it

@Leo Gura, why the word "scoundrel"? What do you want to say by that word?

I'm hearing that word for the first time.

I just watched a relevant interview/dialouge between Sadhguru and some hardnosed scientist. Will link it here.

But I never realized how deep this problem goes. The scientists guy in the video was so obviously entrenched in a clever belief system with pre-made tactics to defend and justify himself in circles. Astounding.

And with such arrogance, he comes across as quite retarted — flailing at windmills, if you will

And when you listen to this scientists dude speak about the brain as the source of consciousness and all this shit, you feel the anxious, rushing energy behind his words, and it all sounds like zombie drivel — the ramblings of a true epistemic scoundrel

Versus when Sadhguru speaks it is clear, calming, etc. No fluff. Man knows what he's talking about (even tho that's nothing) Anyways, just wanted to post this here to provide another example of this epistemic poverty, this epistemilpgical bankruptcy, and the "flailing at windmills" dynamic that keeps these gears churning in motion.

They didn’t even have the (allegedly) at one  point. It’s just snobs thinking they know shit. it’s amazing God can embody himself denying himself existing.

Athiest are more wrong than Christians but on the way to becoming wise. To get out of Christianity and see God you must leave and become less right basically become the most wrong you can than see it.

You almost have to be an athiest to see God cause God isn't in this dimension. Its in another dimension looking into this one. God is basically hiding from this dimension.

To see God you must admit its not here i don't see it or experience it.

I was an athiest arguing with my mother about God and I said if God is all one then it should be that lamp post. She said no because she's a retarded Christian. Little did I know I was about to find out the truth.

In that case an athiest is more open minded than a Christian and being that open as an athiest is a prize to God.
