Dark sides of meditation and kriya yoga ?

8 posts in this topic

Can 41 days of only 20 min of kriya yoga, 20 min of meditation and 40 min of listening to hypnosis suggestions can make you overly sensitive and leave you with almost a stagnant bad feeling ? I know the time frame of 20 min only for 40 days is very less.. but I feel like this a lot... Not sure maybe because of the lack of weed too for last 41 days I'm not sure...

What are your intentions by doing these practices to begin with?

@Elton from the first two negative effects will happen temporarily as long as you do not deviate too far off the kriya yoga course. When this temporary negativity is simply just the purging of negative things inside your body.

No idea about hypnosis. Look up to see if it can have any side-effects.

It can absolutely have bad side effects.

Just focusing on your ajna or third eye chakra (or other chakras) can destroy your sleep/waking cycle, make psychological imbalances, physiological imbalances, feeling of dread, confusion, dark night of the soul, depression, disconnection from reality, wishing you never started, over-focusing your energies into something, concentrating too much or jumping too high into higher states of consciousness with the physical and psychological health you have.

Mixing drugs with yogic practices is just madness and irresponsible. You are lucky if nothing happens to you.

You can also open dimensions that you are not ready for, don't know how to close in every day and destroy your social status completely, because something happened. Maybe what happened is true - grounded in reality, but you might be not ready to integrate.

Same thing with kundalini awakening. You can lose the sense of reality, sense of self, alter some of your body physiology that you can't reverse and believe something that doesn't exist. A lot of traps are there in general that I have heard of and felt of.

Why do you need hypnosis? Meditation and kriya yoga is enough. Make sure the master teaching is qualified and the technique is based in a scripture like shiva sutras or a permutation of that etc. Don't just believe anybody who teaches kriya yoga. If it's yoga it's written somewhere in hindu texts and meant to be thought as is.

No need to mix meditation with weed. You will have disturbed results.

I don't want to discourage you also! Just listen to your body when you do it. If it hurts, might aswell pause. When somebody lays out a technique, try to do as they said or you can over do it etc. etc. It's dangerous BECAUSE it's potent and life altering. I am a testimony of that, but I haven't even scratched the surface I feel. I wish you to find the bliss and experience something new trough a good technique, transmission from the Guru, deity or other happening.

What I am saying is not new or original, Leo talks about it aswell and few other people I know.

The title of this thread should be:  “Haphazardly throwing together a bunch of techniques with drugs has a dark side.”

I've had some so-called negative side effects from combining Kriya yoga with shamanic breathing.

For 2 weeks straight my entire digestive system was rebalancing itself and I was having difficulty having bowel movements because it forced me to change everything I ate and switched over to whole organic foods to be able to deal with the energy that was moving through me. I would be at work at night having to turn off all the lights in a room and then rest in there for 30 minutes and meditate with my eyes closed in order for myself to reboot and recharge.

Oh, and I also experienced immense vibrations in my head but it was not any headache or anything like that it was just that my entire eyes and my head was craving darkness and solitude and in order for me to get through this I had to meditate in the dark for about an hour otherwise I just couldn't handle all the stimulation and the light.
