Ketamine for overthinkers?

14 posts in this topic

I’m a overthinker and it causes some real issues. I heard Elon Musk takes it for his overthinking. Do you think I should try it too? Use microdosing when I’m about to study. The reason I want to take it is to get rid of my procrastination which is a result of restlessness and over activity of the brain.

Buspirone is probably the best anti-anxiety drug i know.

An antihistamine might also be helpful, even small doses of neuroleptics.

Don't use ketamine, benzodiazepines, or even opioids; They're too risky.

The best thing to do is simply avoid activities that trigger anxiety; I don't like the idea of "adding" things like breathwork, meditation, etc; It's not very effective and it's cumbersome to add things; Removing them is the most sustainable solution, and you'll automatically replace them with activities that require less of a strain on the sympathetic nervous system, such as reading, DIY, or whatever.

This is over thinking if every domino was knocked over by you, and each one held a thought pattern, just see you are doing it and stop pushing them over. If you manage to stop it near the end, the next time you think about it ,the last few wont be there, and you just do it over and over. You can manage to stop it at the initial finger push and just never think about it again. You are over thinking you are doing it, you asking to take a drug to stop slapping yourself.

Pretend every domino is a thought you knock over the first one the thought knocks into the second thought it creates a chemical reaction in your brain you react to it that knocks that thought into the next and when they meet the next reaction another thought, so on until you spiral. You arent the thoughts you are knocking them into each other unconsciously. If you do this enough your chat gpt system will start bringing them up itself.

If you feel you cant stop whenever you see that you are spiraling stop take a deep breathe and say I surrender my thoughts my body and my imagination to God and let it Go. Say this everytime you feel yourself arguing with yourself which is a spiral, you are just arguing with yourself.

Watch the thought your mind will say something and you will react to it. You will press button in your mind and talk to it, stop doing that just let it present prompts to you without response. If the mind gets no reaction it will be to engage in imagination to lure you or go into deeper crazier scenarios to get you to respond. This is not an attack its a survival mechanics of the mind. Its asking you what you are scared of cause it needs to know for survival. You are with God that means you should know you dont need to worry about that anymore.

Have you heard about that Pornstar girl Emily Willis? She is now permanently paralyzed because of her Ketamine addiction. I know you're talking about micro-dosing but still, I can't believe how many of you on this forum even think about medications for your mental and non-life threatening physical issues, it never crossed my mind even though I went through it all as well.

In my experience, every medication has cognitive and mental consequences short and long term. I've seen it alter people's behavior for the worse, it's not something to be taken lightly.

Self-esteem issues like this should be treated with care and require much much more work than drugs could ever provide.

The best solution you have is not to kill yourself and suffer through the pain until it stops, drugs are a way out, they're coping.

@MarkKol desperate times require desperate measures

That is the whole thing with fighting your demons with psychedelics.

You either die as a spiritual warrior or you get on your knees for the demons.

Thanks. I know mindfulness is the solution but I’m just too lazy to do it. When I’m overthinking I’m just focusing on my heart and being my attention to my heart every time it drifts off again. Only the heart can defeat the mind. 🙏

I’m not a fan of running away from my demons. I have done that and that is not me. It is an awful life.

Best to realize you are your demons and rise above them.

When it comes to overthinking you need to look at what's sourcing the overthinking. Why are you thinking so much? For what purpose? Contemplate and investigate that.

A drug will only be a temporary measure. You wanna go to the root of it.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

No drugs needed. How about not over thinking in the first place? It is something you do, so learn to see "where" you are doing that and stop it. Meditation and exercise can help.

As a ketamine addict in recovery, I can say that while it definitely did help me mitigate my overactive mind when using it wisely, it also led me down the path to addiction due to how effective it was in the moment. It can be a very useful tool for exploring consciousness and relaxing an overactive mind if used sparingly, but the effects of the drug will not bleed into your sober life. It should be appreciated in the moment as a glimpse towards what it's like to have a quiet mind. Consistent meditation practice and engaging in creative pursuits that put you into a flow state are much better for ironing out your overthinking. I empathise with you though, my mind is firing on all cylinders most of the time, it can be exhausting, hence why I got addicted to ketamine lol

For the majority of my life my mind didn't fire on any cylinder, but then I had a traumatic physical injury which began an obsessive mind. Other things happened that furthered my obsessive thinking. Now I'm kind of in and out over the years in calming my mind, but boy, I yearn for my baseline quiet mind. The bold part is good advice.

I think my brain is just stuck on survival mode and it is blocking my individuation. It is just a paradigm that I´m stuck in and I need ways to go from survival to creation. I know already what works: theta brain wave meditation! I did it again this morning and the meditation feels like a tranquilizer.

The thing is that I´m lazy and my emotionality is still very high so the last thing I want to do in the morning and at night is meditation. That is the lesson for me I think: to do the right stuff although it doesn't feel nice aka being an adult.

I mean it would still be nice if I had some help with it: some ketamine or adralin or something would help me with my concentration and productivity.
