But why? They know that by 2029 Trump is out, so it is all quite reversible.

Is this person a real poster? I have a hard time believing it's not a dedicated troll.

Usually when people don't agree they try to comment to the content of the message. Just for you to know.

Unless they feel it's wasted effort because they're unsure if the other person is just a troll.

I can imagine Europe being a good place for a more educated human, like a scientist. Someone who prefers a more balanced life. And god some cities are just irresistible, like Paris, when hundreds if not thousands of people make small picnics around Seine in the middle of Paris, some couples, some friends, it’s a tearful sight, the only thing close to it is Central Park in New York just way less romantic.

You don't think that your response can itself be considered trolling?

I do not because I've seen so many of that users posts where I cannot believe he's posting in good faith so either is a troll or just really truly sucks.

@oldhandle Perhaps I’m underestimating the feelings of Americans who feel deeply threatened by the recent changes in how society relates to science such as the rise of the anti-vaxxer movement and by Trump’s actions.

But from my perspective, the American system seems far more resilient and robust compared to what is happening in my own country, Israel, where the head of the system can theoretically stay in power indefinitely and continue deepening his toxic policies. In contrast the crisis in the US seems (to me at least) much more temporary especially if we consider the tendency of the political pendulum to swing with each election. There’s a high chance the next president will be moderate again.

I understand from the comments here that it's not so simple, and that the damage Trump has done may take a long time to repair, which is a valid concern. There may be other important aspects I’m missing, so if anyone here would like to explain their concerns more deeply, I would be happy to hear.

The danger is that the current administration has the intent to wrack the system and rebuild some entirely new techno-capitalist AI-driven utopian empire from scratch. Sounds quite dramatic, but depending on how successful this coalition can execute on their plans we could be in an radically altered political-landscape in 4 years.

Y’know it’s probably the closest thing I’ve seen to the biblical concept of heaven where everyone seems to be happily swimming in the clouds, Central Park and Paris Seine River at/before sunset.

i remember it vividly while listening to this song

Is the sentiment from Leo still "you are too invested in the news if you think you should leave the US?" I really feel that position gets harder and harder to defend every day.
