Best Water Filter?

19 posts in this topic

Want to know if y’all recommend this water filter? https://a.co/d/24H0yn4

I don’t think it’s good idea to drink straight out of the sink.

What do you think?

If you’re not gonna respond intelligently, then might us well do us both a favor and don’t respond.

You may respond with: “well then don’t ask stupid questions.”

But the thing is that I will continue to ask stupid questions if that means I will learn something and develop intelligent answers.

Don't know about your first question.

Question 2: I was also thinking,  after filtering from here, could I put the water into one of those zero-water filter jug things, to further remove any lead etc, if needed?

No jug is going to remove lead from water. The only way to do that is with high quality, expensive, filter membranes.

A water filter station is more expensive then that but it might even be overkill especially in countries with decent drinking water.

Sad that it doesnt say how much percent of the heavy metals it filters out.

@r0ckyreed That's not a serious filter. But I guess it's better than nothing. Although maybe its worse because you're fooling yourself that your water is clean with that thing.

My ex-gf had that Brita thing. The water from it tasted gross. I gag to myself when I imagine how it tastes.

Proper RO water just tastes good.

@r0ckyreed I want to buy myself this one when I get the money:

https://aquatruwater.com/product/carafe-countertop-reverse-osmosis-water-purifier-variation/

It's reverse osmosis filter and I like that the water is stored in the glass container vs plastic.

You can also find them used on ebay for much cheaper, which shouldn't techincally be an issue since you need to buy new filter sets every ones in a while anyway. But I have never bought anything on ebay so idk how safe it is.

@Something Funny That thing costs more than a full 6-stage RO system.

@Leo Gura but you don't have to permanently install it anywhere which is really the only option if you are renting an apartment. Not just because you might not be allowed to but also in case you need to move in the future.

Thanks guys! Yes, I am looking for something portable. I appreciate the links and will do my research on it.

I am thinking about getting a portable filter that I don’t have to hook up to a sink.

@r0ckyreed If you get a cattail you can use it to filter water like a caveman :P

Brother that things made of plastic. Long term use of that thing especially if left in the sun and you'll be exposing yourself to loads of micro plastics.

Check out youtube videos that compare and test different Reverse Osmosis countertop filters to see which is the best one and truly filters the most stuff.
