Spiritual Genetics advice

10 posts in this topic

@Leo Gura I don't want to brag, but I think I have solid spiritual genetics. Many relatives from both sides since my great grandfathers followed the spiritual path (Some were priests, Nuns, some went to India) and reported strong spiritual experiences.

Again, I do not want to develop a spiritual ego and I am prone to that. But, that is not my point at all.

What should I do to awaken and to not make the same mistakes my relatives have made?

@Leo Gura, I really don't write this out of Narcisism.

I suffer from addiction and mental illness, but I have a strong spiritual potential.

Should I follow the monastic path before leading a clinic? Should I work and do psychedelics? Should I do hardcore meditation retreats? Teach?

I do not want to waste my life.

Many of my family members have plateued to different degrees.

This advice might help anyone who has spiritual family to not make the same mistakes as them.

My mom followed an Indian Guru since I was young.

Just because your parents had it doesn't mean you have it.

Whether you have it depends on if you actually have the talents when you practice. Only you can know that.

I can't tell you what to do.

The most powerful practices are:

  • Psychedelics
  • Hardcore meditation retreats
  • Kriya yoga

Do them all if you are serious.

But since you have mental illness be extra careful with psychedelics. Small doses.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

I also have a history of psychosis, specially from my mom's side.

However it is unclear where the line between that and spiritual awakening is drawn. Many defend their psychosis including myself lol

I will do a hardcore retreat this next week and will report my results.

If you are truly spiritually inclined, that is, you have the compulsion to unlock all the barriers in your experiential dimension, you will know that there is only one guide: your intuition. Depending on where it leads you, you will be able to deduce whether you really had the right configuration or not

Your brain may be naturally more schizotypal, which means that you are more creative and more prone to psychosis. This is something common in spiritual people, but you have to learn to ground yourself in reality and not get lost in your mind.

There are practices such as mindfulness, being in nature, grounding, breathing exercises and physical activity which can help connect you to your body/present-immediate reality and to ground you.

Take hold of your own life. See that the whole existence is celebrating.

These trees are not serious, these birds are not serious.

The rivers and the oceans are wild, and everywhere there is fun, everywhere there is joy and delight. Watch existence, listen to the existence and become part of it. -Osho
