The Truth Behind Elon Musk’s Drug Use

When Musk wants mankind to fly to Mars, that's an ego-trip. He wants it because it makes him feel like his life matters. Like he's the most important guy on Earth.

This is also the case in many cases when a surgeon operates on your brain and saves your life.

Not quite the same thing.

Musk's quest has a pretty unique purpose in his psyche. And also important is that it's a totally absurd and unnecessary plan. Mankind is not going to live on Mars. Musks needs that to be true to feel important.

It's like if I said mankind will live in volcanos. This is not like being a surgeon. Human bodies are not going to function on Mars. People will go there and come back crippled or not at all.

Yeah, Leo, but you're forgetting something. Even though life on Mars may not be possible, the important thing is the technology developed to achieve it. This same technology will be used to reach other planets where human life will be possible. What Musk is doing is really important to mankind, you just don’t want to admit it or see it.

Humans ain't gonna live on any other planets for a very long time. It's pointless to even discuss.

I know the technology angle. But frankly mankind has way too much tech already. We have more important matters to handle than massive rockets to nowhere good.

Colonizing Mars is a meaningless achievement, like climbing Everest or sailing around the world in three months, but that is the human drive that moves us forward

But I agree that a guy obsessed with colonizing Mars should not be in a leadership position in the world's leading power.

It's a great idea which I will fully endorse if Musk is the first to go.

Let's see how much he loves it on Mars.

As I keep saying, you guys misunderstand billionaires. It's not about the money. It's about the ego trip, the power, the control, the feeling of grand self-importance.

Musk is on an epic ego power trip. Just like Trump.

Unions threaten to take away his power and control. The thing Musk hates the most is having to share power with others.

Abso-fucking-lutely.

Although if you really understood what an ego trip is, it's not as shallow as digits in a bank account. Ego trip is all about the feeling.

When Musk wants mankind to fly to Mars, that's an ego-trip. He wants it because it makes him feel like his life matters. Like he's the most important guy on Earth.

We all do things for selfish reasons while it is ideally benefiting for others too. It is the engine that moves us forward. Personally I don’t think it is either or. He is doing what he does for mankind + too feel important.

Elon Musk wants to go to Mars to ensure the survival of humanity. He believes that becoming a multi-planetary species is essential to protect against existential threats like asteroid impacts, nuclear war, or AI gone wrong. How is that meaningless? 😭

Maybe life on Mars could even be possible. You could be wrong about it. With the right infrastructure, we could live on Mars. You have already made wrong predictions involving politics, for example.

Life on Mars would be like life on earth except much worse. There’d be more deaths from environmental factors, a more agitated people than those on earth, whose only horizon is a red baron wasteland or something artificial.

Have you noticed how difficult a time humans have with being physically and psychologically healthy in their own natural environment? What do you think happens when you put them in an unnatural, artificial environment where their rights and freedoms are necessarily stripped away for survival purposes?

This whole colonize mars idea might be good fantasy but all those who share in it would be fighting each other to escape it after a few months or a couple of years at most. All that would need to happen is something sharp pierce the balloon that is their fantasy or the balloon that is their bio dome, lol, and they'd be killing each other for tickets back home. Horrible idea.

Now, if you want to take a dedicated team of scientists who were willing to devote their lives to that mission, that's doable, but if the goal is to populate Mars with the citizens of earth, that's just a dumb idea at this point in time and likely will remain a dumb idea for tens of thousands of years, if not forever.

Maybe the planet could be put to good use, but trying to make it a hospitable place for humans to call home isn’t one of them.

Musk probably thinks that those who colonize Mars will go with genetically modified, partially synthetic bodies. Perhaps he's not wrong.

Yeah, because he'll be alive to witness the merging of titanium and flesh. Nanofibers serving as not only the structural connection, but also the data transfer mechanism that allows man's brain to control his cyborg arm as if it were his natural appendage.

You're right. Musk probably has it all planned out so that it makes perfect sense.

Maybe he thinks that in 30 years there will be therapies to reverse aging and he will have plenty of time to walk on Mars

Yeah, I see what you mean. It's totally feasible that Musk transcends mortality and becomes a cyborg space emperor.

He already has the face of a cyborg, all he needs is a titanium body with the strength of a god and his own solar system.

We would be totally miserable on Mars. Our entire physiology and psychology is fine-tuned over millions of years of co-evolution to live on this Earth. You already see the negative consequences of us creating an environment were not well adapted to here on Earth. The microplastics, the PFAs and thousands of other chemicals, less time in nature etc... already mess with our wellbeing in significant ways and we see the negative consequences everywhere. If humans dont get adequate amounts of sun or air we become depressed and develop sickness over time. I highly doubt that were anywhere near capable of engineering an environment that is evolutionarily fit for us on Mars. We tried to engineer an artificial sustainable ecosystem here on Earth already, the project was called "Biosphere 2" and it terribly failed: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biosphäre_2. The resources we spend on this grandiose fantastical project we rather should spend reserving the only planet we have, which is not yet totally doomed.

Sort of like an emperor of the mankind from the Warhammer 40k universe. LOL

I guess we don't really need to expand into space at all. After all there's no evidence of any aliens doing that either. Maybe the space is just supposed to be left as it is, lifeless and barren. Maybe that's why the distances between all the objects of the universe are so vast, it's a way for a God to say "Why you even bother you stupid mortal, just stay at your home planet"
