The Art of not pushing

13 posts in this topic

The social conditioning we get from everywhere around us, since birth is: "push harder, do more, etc". But this approach doesn't work many times.

Pushing your opinions to people doesn't work.

Pushing others to agree with you doesn't work.

Pushing the opposite sex to love you, doesn't work.

Pushing your happiness and succcess to materialize doesn't work.

I found these last few months, that i've gained a deeper sense of peace and serenity despite all the chaos and destruction around me.

I feel a lot less stressed , even though im in a challenging situation in life..

What i've found is that the reason people push is because they believe too much in their 'stupid' ego-mind program and Cannot let the Divine run the show.

What does letting the Divine run the show? Nobody can't really answer that for you.

This is pretty false.

Pushing for success if often necessary for success.

Of course it does! That's why successful people get paid the big bucks.

You are paid for how much stress and shit you're willing to put up with.

Which is why hippies are broke. If you want peace, success is not for you. If you want success you should be working 60hr weeks, to your physical and emotional limit.

The only reason people aren't successful is because they aren't willing to handle the workload. They expect success while being comfortable. Chasing success is not happiness, it's misery. You gotta be sorta deluded and crazy to do it.

I suppose it depends what we are meaning when we say success. Success to one person could be emotional success or spiritual success or relational success...

But then again there are the standard forms of success which would be wealth fame and lots of sex. Maybe a big house and a nice car. But I know that Leo knows that that stuff doesn't bring the highest fulfilment

I’m super excited to do 55h weeks since some months now. Albeit it being for a meaningful project.

The purpose it gives can also contribute a lot to overall happiness.

If you want to put your life in order you will need to exercise strength and that will cause you stress. But if you don’t do anything chaos will take over and I don’t think that is a happy life.  Go ask a bum. I think it is all about finding the balance between wanting to put things in order and surrendering to chaos.

That’s why the hippie movement was infiltrated and destroyed and why authoritarians take over. I don’t see a solution though.
