Trump Refuses to Rule Out Recession, Stock Market Dips 10%

NEW YORK (AP) — The U.S. stock market is falling further Tuesday following President Donald Trump’s latest escalation in his trade war, briefly pulling Wall Street 10% below its record set just a few weeks ago.

Doesn't look too great for the economy. Is a recession here sooner than we thought?

Quote

As a presidential candidate, Donald J. Trump promised an economic “boom like no other.”

But eight weeks into his presidency, Mr. Trump is refusing to rule out a recession — a striking change in tone and message for a man who rode widespread economic dissatisfaction to the White House by promising to “make America affordable again.”

I dont think Trump understands how insane children are. They are not going back to factory or mine, they will rather die. What he is doing can only be seen as on purpose? Hes doing all this with literally nothing happening. Just throw 10 percent of your money away to shit talk? This isnt the left or 1 world order attacking them this is just them insulting literally everyone in the world at the same time.

They didnt take into consideration that we are all linked and when you do one thing to someone random thats someone who is popular and riches friend or relative or business partner.

Sometimes it seems like Trump and Vance base their opinions and ventures on 4chan.
I had this thought recently lol, I think while watching the meeting with Zelensky.

Like gold?

You think it’ll drop?

Or maybe weapons/ defence stocks?

Since the world is gearing up for the trilogy of the WWs.

Rheinmetal a German defence company stocks went up more than 10x in the last 5 years.

What do you think, is there a plan of trump to crash the economy so that the Fed is forced to print money again so that people go to riskier assets like crypto, everything will explode especially his meme coin?

What do you think.

In a crash everything will drop. It's only a question of what drops more. Gold will drop least, but still drops.

Just study gold prices during the last few recessions/crashes to see what will happen.

No idea.

Betting on war is dicey. Plus is seems like too late to the party now.

Come on. The first thing to crash will always be crypto, because it's junk for fools.

Just look at the types of people who invest in crypto: the stupidest and most cringe "investors" ever. Chimps trading cash for magic beans.

@Leo Gura

What are some keys to keep in mind when the stock market drops that you learned from your experience with the dip in 2008? You mentioned you made the most during those times. What are you looking for when you invest when it's low and not peaking. I learned that it's counterintuitive to buy when the market drops and most people panic and only buy when the market is doing good.

Depends how hard the market crashes.

I sold most of my shares (less than 100k) about 6 months ago when I could tell Trump was going to be elected.

In that six months since it would have climbed a combined 15%. Now crashed about 7%. If I held, I would still be up.

Will it crash another 8% or more? I doubt it honestly. The oligarchs are already feeling the burn.

This is Moloch in action. It was better for me to keep my money in a sick system rather than opt out.

Is the lesson here: Don't bet against Moloch?

Dude, it can easily crash another 50%.

This is all still foreplay. The ass-fucking has yet to commence.

Someone  just said this on Social Media

"We may be in an Extinction Burst—that violent, desperate thrashing before an old order- our government- collapses. But what if this time, it doesn’t fall? What if democracy is the thing that dies? Wanna be-Authoritarians like Trump and Musk know their grip is slipping—that’s when they’re most dangerous. So we must press harder against them - because they believe they’re untouchable. They don’t fear Democrats. Or We The People."

I didn't say I made money in stocks. I meant I started my biz.

Obviously the lesson is to buy when everyone else is drowning in their own blood.

The best time to buy stocks in 1 year into a solid bloodly crash when hope is 0%. You must do exactly the opposite of what everyone is doing. If fools are buying, you sell. If fools are selling, you buy.

You gauge the market by what the fools are into, and do the opposite.

I think you misunderstood what I said . The whole market and economy will crash, (of course also BTC and all the altcoins with it 60%), then the Fed comes in and prints money to save the economy and then everything will explode. Like the last times, every time Fed switches to QE and prints money everything explodes especially meme coins.

And I think you have some bias for crypto. What does interest you how stupid crypto investors look like. Making some money should be all you care about in speculative assets.

Holy crap this got a chuckle out of me 😂

If I recall, quite a lot of not-so-unsubstantial moderate/swing voters went for Trump because, and I quote, "He'll be good for the economy."

That's like saying that the loggers will be good for forestation. Or the poachers will be good for endangered animals.

We live in a time period where all of the world's information is readily available at our fingertips. And we choose not to do some basic fucking research from credible sources. The irony isn't lost on me.

Buffet has a good quote on this...  "Be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful."

I'd offer some better advice for most people...  Dollar cost average into a low cost S&P 500 index fund, consistently over your lifetime.  Don't jump in and out and a keep buying, in good times and bad.   Start as early as you can and preferably in Roth IRA's and 401k's.  You almost can't lose, barring some apocalyptic shit, and then $ really doesn't matter anyway.

What do you mean by explode? Go down or go up?

Once everything crashes 50%, then of course it will start to go up. But when it comes to shitcoins, those will not go up, those will die permanently. Bitcoin will not die, it will recover. Bitcoin is the only non-shitcoin.

It matters a lot. When you invest in the ventures of fools, you lose your pants along with them.

It's also toxic for culture and society.

Making some money should be all you care about in speculative assets.

First of all, making money is not what I care about. I care about much higher values. Even within investing. I try not to invest in toxic things even if I could make money doing it.

Secondly, even if all you care about is money, you should be mindful of the fools who you invest alongside of because their delusions will result in your losing money. You don't wanna be investing in a sector which 90% fools. You want to invest in solid sectors. Because when the sector fails your investment will fail no matter how good it is. When all the shicoins crash, they will take Bitcoin down with them.
