Should blue states secede?

8 posts in this topic

It's unconstitutional and against the law. But so is everything that the current national government is doing, so who cares about that minor deterrent?

California, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, etc. should exit the USA. They will have opposition in their own state for sure, but from what we've seen from the Republican town halls, previously red voters have their own frustrations.

That would be immensely self-destructive and pointless. Now you've assured that blue states don't have any say over politics.

Who cares? The Trump administration is "immensely self-destructive and pointless" as well. Blue states are basically governing themselves right now. They have the highest GDP anyways, so it's not like they're going to feel hurt the most compared to the welfare red states.

Fracturing the country isn't a proportional response to a bad president or political climate. It just makes things worse and could lead to civil war. A state that silos nukes seceding would lead to security crisis.

America, unfortunately, is deeply fractured. I agree that this is not ideally what we desire for our own national security and power as a nation. But right now, we're despised on a global scale. We're facing economic disaster. 50% of Americans did NOT want to disrupt the global economy, so why should the world's fate be handed over to a few goat fuckers in North Dakota?

We're due up for a systemic upheaval. We had every opportunity to push against this anti-democratic regime in the world's most powerful nation, with the most influential democratic processes. But we got seduced and suckered, and here we are isolated.

We should not all have to deal with this. Those of us with some sense and intelligence should not have to align with this bastardized version of a pathetic, feeble USA.

In 9th grade biology, our teacher told us a story meant to scare us straight about intravenous drug use. A guy she knew- hooked on heroin—started shooting up his penis.

Over time, it turned gangrenous & rotting. Doctors told him they needed to amputate. But no matter how festering & putrid it got, he refused. Because, after all, it was his one and only penis.

And if that isn’t the perfect metaphor for MAGA voters, hooked on the lies, clinging to 🍊 as their one and only, I don’t know what is.

The only thing weirder than that orgy of factual inaccuracies, severe exaggerations, misleading characterizations, unsupported claims, motivated reasoning, and logical fallacies, was the Democrat's lack of organization and inability to formulate a response that tells the American people why they should vote for them instead of the the party led by the man that just gave the most unhinged speech ever made by an American President.

What would happen is Trump will launch the national guard as soon as he can and hammer you into submission and then crown himself national hero. It would embolden Trump to smear democrats even further and contribute to undercuting democratic processes.

Political suicide is not going to solve the problem. People have to suffer the consequences of their immature voting practices through mass inflation and hollowing of social services and democracy for them to learn. I know it's frustrating because just how stupid it all is. It should be obvious how bad Trump is politically.
