What i didn’t like is when he said “Donald you’re very intelligent, but this is a very dumb thing”

I think it was smart. It signals to MAGA that Canada isn't just "orange man bad" anti-Trumpers. Even if it's false, I think it was a good move. The idiots of America would attack him if he were hostile to Trump but it's hard to attack him now. He seems like "IDK what we did to deserve this and we wish it weren't happening, we don't hate you, but you're forcing us into this position". I think this was a brilliant address and I think we need more like it.

Trump is intelligent... in his own, sick and twisted way. It takes a certain level of competence to mass manipulate enough people on such a large scale. So, no wrong statement there.

However, countering it with also calling him dumb was a very slick move. Probably something Trump and his goonies aren't used to, either.

It's like telling a pig: You're very beautiful, but this is very ugly.

It's the story of the Emperor's new clothes.  Remember that one?

At this rate, we may end up in an actual physical war with Europe and Canada.

I'm not politically educated so not sure if this question makes sense but is it possible that the American people could/would dictate whether or not they go to war? If Trump puts us in a useless, unnecessary war, I feel like most people would be like "fuck that" and refuse to participate in it and there'd be public backlash the likes of which we've never seen. Would his reign not somehow end if he went that far?

There have been strong protests for most modern wars. Look at how much backlash Vietnam and Iraq got.

Whether or not it would be enough for the public to completely lose faith in Trump is questionable. It depends on how much pain they are experiencing and how much they attribute it to Trump.

Most conservatives do not actually believe war or violence is wrong. They see that as a weak position for soft liberals.

It's not a real question.  I'm not sure what he's up to..but he would never start out with "I'm not politically educated".  Maybe his gf stole his phone.  Weird stuff.

It's a reasonable question.

As usual, Canadian politicians downplaying/dismissing valid concerns. We have a drug and money laundry issue and our ports check 1% of what comes in - I work with someone who worked at ports checking containers coming in and she saw it was bad years ago.

“A Saskatchewan Ministry of Health alert on Saturday said not only had the department responded to 25 overdoses in Saskatoon on Feb. 25 and 26 but had now had to deal with 23 further overdoses between 7 a.m. on Feb. 28 and 7 a.m. on March 1.“

Well, did he forget about the Armed forces then? A draft would be a long ways away.

Trudeau is another huge criminal. He has done so much illegal activity, money laundering, bribed so many people. Here he is saying he will resign, yet he doesn't, and then imposes his own tariffs on USA.

Hit the nail on the fucking head with this take. Trump is what happens when you give someone with the ego development and impulse control of an immature child the keys to the country.

Wars are very expensive and in general western or advanced nations don't want to engage in them simply because of this. There has to be some kind of pay off and as you can even see with Ukraine there probably isnt going to be much for Russia.

Trump starting a war with Europe, Mexico or Canada would be insane, not saying impossible. But surely even some republicans would be against it. At the very least 50% of the population  would be passionately against it. He could still do it bit I think only the maga cult and loyalists would be behind him

It's called intellectual humility and letting people know, just in case the question seemed weird or stupid. I don't know what all I don't know about politics. And no, my dumbass girlfriend who hasn't a brain did not steal my phone and post a stupid question. That was all me.

Hysterical anti-Trumpers?

That framing is its already delusional gaslighting.

Anyone with half a brain can see that Trump should not be within a 1000 miles of any position of power. And this was obvious since 2015.

It's the people calling people hysterical anti-Trumpers who have always been part of the problem.

It should not take 10 years to realize that Trump is an ignorant scumbag.
