There are consequences of the U.S tossing out its values and integrity on the world stage just to appease Putin. 

You cannot make peace with Putin without compromising your own values and integrity, which is why no one of moral and cognitive development would entertain the idea that standing with Putin and telling the rest of the world to fuck off is a good idea. When a bully comes to take your land, you can either give it to him or draw a line and say "we'll die on this hill, and if we do, we'll die standing up for what is right". There is no fucking middle ground here if you have a spine. 

IDK how best to defeat Russia but it's not by tossing your values out on the world stage and abandoning your allies. Making peace with Putin isn't a viable option if one is to maintain right values and integrity. Putin's "peace" is contingent upon him being free to reign down his chaos. There is no negotiating with that IMO.

I listened to him and didn't think he was being rude. It sounded like he simply had a different perspective than Vance and was trying to articulate it and in doing so, was smeared as being disrespectful because some man-children can't handle perspectives if they don't bolster their own. You could say he's not politically savvy and he should have known that he has to walk on eggshells around these two morons but "disrespectful" is not what I picked up on. He was being assertive and sharing his perspective, yes. If anyone was disrespectful it was Trump and Vance. IDK Zelensky's personality, so many he was being subtle, but I didn't pick up on anything like disrespect AT ALL. He was attacked from nowhere, out of the blue. It was fucking insane.

I rewatched the meeting a few times. I am almost certain that Vance, being the avatar of the oligarchs, is having a parallel agenda. You can see him setting traps for Zelenskyy (commenting on conscription, “disrespect”, etc) and egging Trump (saying Zelenskyy was talking to the opposition, i.e democrats). At the end, he was smiling.

Interesting analysis and future predictions. Accordingly, if true, Trump's plan was to humiliate Zelenskyy in front of the world and have him sign away the minerals despite being a bad deal, setting a precedence of American domination over foreign affairs (America first).

Zelensky wasn't gonna do it if there's no security guanrantees, he may as well have not got into the war in the first place and just surrendered to Russia in that case. 

And since Trump doesn't want to publicly pick a side against Putin, there's no deal.

Ukraine is not in a position to dictate other countries what to do. And Zelensky is not in a position to be funny or cynical.

He should have sent some diplomat there instead.

Trump's ways are a shame since he represents the country that supported and pushed Ukraine into this war. According to him, it is not his problem since it was Biden, not him. This defines the problem of democracies: inconstancy, bipolarity, weakness.

but the reality is that they must end a war that is impossible to win. The Biden administration, through blinken, was pushing to lower the draft age to 18. It all sounds very nice and heroic from the outside, but when they force 18-year-olds to go to the slaughterhouse for nationalist reasons, it is best to stay away. The war has been lost because it is impossible to win. If you put too much pressure on Russia, it could destroy kyiv without resorting to atomic weapons in a week. It is impossible to win, so what other option is there? continue with the deaths? 

Pressuring Russia was a catastrophic mistake for Ukraine, it was obvious from the beginning. but the Ukrainians were drunk with nationalism. For reasons of pride and historical hatred they have destroyed their country. What is the solution, total destruction? Or attack Russia and make them surrender? Be careful with the bear, it's so obvious that it's incredible that this war happened

It's likely that it was pre-meditated to jump him. Trump wanted Zelenskyy to sign away his rare minerals with no security guarantees. There wasn't going to be a peace deal regardless because Ukraine can't sign a deal like that.
