The thing with the whole “peace through strength ” slogan is that you have to have strength in the first place. So someone tell me the strengths of the West against Russia in the context of the Ukraine war?

In my view you need equal or greater force. So you kind of answered it yourself.

Unfortunately this does mean more investment in self-defense based military and tactics.

While simultaneously educating the public about dictatorships vs democracies.

That reasoning means: I'm right because my political system is better than yours, then im always right. The fact is that the Russians in ucraine prefers belonging to Russia despite the regime, only for ethnic reasons, since it is an area where they are primitive, differentiate by ethnic group and hate each other. Anyway, I just wanted to show that the thing is not so absolutely clear, it's grey not black and white. War is the worse possiblity, but they want to show us like the only possibility in that case because it's the good against the evil, that's false.

I cannot verify this claim, how did you verify it?

All I know is Ukrainians as a whole are voting for independence at this time. I didn't say that can't ever change, but it has to be changed (if that were to be the case) not through manipulation.

I agree the West should be stronger, but the point is it’s not going to happen quick enough to affect this current war - only to deter a future one.

That depends on the collective will of "the west", and their understanding of the situation. Putin can't do it quickly either as he and his army have also been weakened.

In Canada a large chunk of the population are immigrants, but they clearly want to be Canadian.
