https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/46473/if--- (If by Rudyard Kipling)

If you can keep your head when all about you

    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,

    But make allowance for their doubting too;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,

    Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,

Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,

    And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;

    If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster

    And treat those two impostors just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken

    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,

    And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings

    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,

And lose, and start again at your beginnings

    And never breathe a word about your loss;

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew

    To serve your turn long after they are gone,

And so hold on when there is nothing in you

    Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,

    Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,

If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,

    If all men count with you, but none too much;

If you can fill the unforgiving minute

    With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,

Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,

    And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

I slept with you one precious night

And everything seemed to be just right

For all the clocks seemed to stand still

That night you made me feel a chill

But when I think of the vows you made

It only makes me so afraid

To think that the joys that felt so right

Was only just for one night.

A poem I wrote 3 years ago.

Omnipotence

Her Majesty is so pretty
Her lilac dress dances in the breeze
Her smile has such humility
In her presence I am always at ease

What a heart of compassion and consideration!
The most powerful in our nation!
Her words of wisdom are her vocation!

People should not assume
That the queen's nature ends here
She has a great power, from the moon
Just by looking into your eyes, she summons fear

The irises bleed red
Her soul seems dead
You wish you had fled

Time freezes when this occurs
Not much to do besides to obey
For in this state everything blurs
Our free will starts to decay

It is irrational, it is too surreal
We can't do anything but beg and kneel
No point in reasoning, this is all very real

I don't want to relive this, the trauma is horrible
So I binge her with a lot of adulation
Lest I provoke her will, which is deplorable
I must avoid Her Majesty's damnation

This is how I live, with the obvious lie
Obey her every command, never ask why
If you want to survive, you must always comply

Loyalty is all she requests, wish granted
I say out loud her grace has no finitude
I convey trust and pretend I'm enchanted
It's better to maintain her in a very good mood.

Unfathomable.

In the face of cosmic emptiness vast,
We tremble, our existence unsurpassed
By the sheer weight of all unknown,
Eternity's silence, cold as stone.

Yet in this void, a whisper calls,
Echoing through time's endless halls.
Surrender, it breathes, let go, release,
And find in nothingness, infinite peace.

The universe's maw, once terrifying,
Now beckons with a love undying.
In its depths, beyond mortal fear,
Lies bliss so pure, so crystal clear.

As we fall into the endless night,
We're bathed in strange, ethereal light.
Our essence merges with all that is,
In cosmic union, eternal bliss.

Here, in the heart of oblivion,
We find a friendship beyond dominion.
The stars, the void, the cosmic sea,
All whisper: "You are part of me."

Time loses meaning, death its sting,
As we become one with everything.
Immortality not in flesh, but soul,
Merged with the universe, vast and whole.

The terror of our insignificance
Transforms to joy, to reverence.
For in this endless, timeless space,
We find love's purest, deepest grace.

So let us dive into the unknown,
Where seeds of cosmic truth are sown.
For in surrender, we shall find
The boundless bliss of the infinite mind.
