At this point I think god doesn't know what it is and is trying to self-assemble to find out. lol

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

You really need God to answer that for you?

I'd basically just want to know if I'm spending my time wisely to reach my highest potential and to actualize my goals, which is what happiness means to me.

I guess a better question would be: What should I devote my limited time and energy to in order to be truly happy in life and at the end of it?

It's hard to know if you're spending your time wisely and are on the right track. Someone might work decades on their life purpose only to realize in the end it was a waste of time. Our values change over time. I haven't taken your life purpose course so I'm not sure if you touch on that or not. This is one issue I see with choosing a life purpose when you're in your 20s. What you think you want in your 20s will change. Same thing for your 30s and maybe every decade... if you're growing.

Other good questions:

  • What’s the one thing I’m neglecting that would unlock the next level of my growth?
  • What’s the most efficient way to spend my remaining years?
  • What am I wasting time on that I will regret?

If the question questions the questioner, does the one who asks the question get questioned?

I drank 1 drink when I was 20 with family members to experiment, felt a bit of a buzz. Never drank again.

I made the decision young never take anything addictive or damage my brain or body.

@Oppositionless you should get to the point were it never occurs to you to drink, or smoke, or do casual drugs with no deeper purpose.

I mean it NEVER occurs to you, that it brings nothing to your life. Its not something you consider doing when its offered.

When you want to feel good, automatically you think of exercise or going to bed early.

That is the instinct that needs to be cultivated.

And it comes from having a larger vision of what your direction in life is.

People with a weak vision and who don't do active visualization of there life trajectory fall on the waist side in unconscious living.

@Joshe Maybe you can find some insight in these words by Steve Jobs before his death.......

"I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world. In others' eyes, my life is an epitome of success.

However, aside from work, I have little joy. In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am accustomed to.

At this moment, lying on the sick bed and recalling my whole life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth that I took so much pride in, have paled and become meaningless in the face of impending death.

In the darkness, I look at the green lights from the life supporting machines and hear the humming mechanical sounds, I can feel the breath of God of death drawing closer ...

Now I know, when we have accumulated sufficient wealth to last our lifetime, we should pursue other matters that are unrelated to wealth ...

Should be something that is more important:

Perhaps relationships, perhaps art, perhaps a dream from younger days

Non-stop pursuing of wealth will only turn a person into a twisted being, just like me.

God gave us the senses to let us feel the love in everyone's heart, not the illusions brought about by wealth.

The wealth I have won in my life I cannot bring with me. What I can bring is only the memories precipitated by love.

That's the true riches which will follow you, accompany you, giving you strength and light to go on.

Love can travel a thousand miles. Life has no limit. Go where you want to go. Reach the height you want to reach. It is all in your heart and in your hands.

What is the most expensive bed in the world?

Sick bed ...

You can employ someone to drive the car for you, make money for you but you cannot have someone to bear the sickness for you.

Material things lost can be found. But there is one thing that can never be found when it is lost — Life.

When a person goes into the operating room, he will realize that there is one book that he has yet to finish reading — Book of Healthy Life.

Whichever stage in life we are at right now, with time, we will face the day when the curtain comes down.

Treasure Love for your family, love for your spouse, love for your friends.

Treat yourself well. Cherish others."

Steve's final words were monosyllables, repeated three times.

OH WOW. OH WOW. OH WOW.

* So, in the end it is Love that matters most. A life full of Love is a life well spent.

Thanks @cetus! I mostly agree with Steve on that one. I still haven't secured financial freedom but when I do, it definitely won't be an end in itself. IMO, the whole point of financial freedom is to spend life pursuing and engaging in the things that bring you happiness/joy. For me, that's working on problems that can help humanity, so that's the point I'm trying to get to.
