Is anybody making their own probiotics?

14 posts in this topic

I think i will try to make this yogurt soon-ish

It’s  with a specific bacteria strain.

I actually did make yogurt like a decade ago but it never really helped. And i am very sensitive to certain probiotics. I made a thread a while ago about how some probiotic supplements cause depression/fatigue/inflammation for me.

You can order kefir-grains, which contain several times more benefical bacteria than yogurt. It is quite easy to make, you just need to put them in some nice grass-fed organic milk minimally processed and wait for 24-36 hours. The variety of bacteria in your gut will help you to increase the bioavailability of all the foods you will eat and helps your gut to synthesize neurotransmitters more easily. Also kefir grains in the milk will produce most of the b-vitamins, which are crucial co-factors for neurotransmitter production and will make the amino-acids of the milk more bioavailable and easier digestible. Its an absolute superfood and a good replacement for many supplements. I feel very good with it!

Have done that before years ago too.

Made milk kefir and mostly water kefir with grains.

Also thinking about buying milk kefir grains again.

I eat home made kimchi every day & I have noticed a significant improvement in my digestion. Nice, non-sticky logs that come out in one piece without struggles. No gas, no bowel discomfort. I used to get gases when eating chick peas. Now I don’t.
And I just love the flavour of kimchi. I make it super spicy. Goes especially well with carbs like sweet potatoes, rice, whole grain bread & legumes. Meat as well. Tangy, hot & spicy health boost!

If i put a probiotic supplement into a glass of warm-ish milk or goat milk for let’s say 1-3 hours. Do the bacteria multiply?

My mom often makes homemade yogurt. There is no need for kefir grains or probiotics, just another commercial yogurt that is already colonized.

What's the purpose ?

It seems like a bit of a pointless fad, I wouldn't give it much thought unless it's just for the fun of making yogurt.

Why so much interests for this random bacteria?

You should be interested in the big guns, like Joe Dispenza's work, chelation and turpentine deworming protocols, castor oil purge, celery juice, green juices here and there, pomegranate, cooked oysters and liver, vitamins cures, etcetc.
