Getting rich is spiritual

5 posts in this topic

In my opinion one doesn’t have to live a poor man’s live to become spiritual. If you are spiritually rich, those riches in spirit will translate into riches in the material world anyway. It is outdated  spirituality in my opinion. We have to get through spiral dynamics orange and integrate it.

For me being rich is the ability to not deal with stupid people. Because it is true what they say: Hell is other people. And if you haven’t developed yourself you will need to deal with stupid people all the time with your work and in your social life. But if you developed yourself and you have good skills you can choose with whom you work.

I decided to become wealthy when I got fed up having to deal with low quality friends who don’t keep their word, lie and who have jealousy and envy. If you have money you can travel around and afford the places where high quality people come to instead of being forced to hang out with the riff raff.

If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? - 1 John 3:17

It’s easier to focus on metaphysical matters when you’re not burdened by financial worries. Anything beyond covering your basic needs doesn’t enhance spirituality - it’s more likely to become a distraction, an end in itself that drains your time and energy from truly spiritual pursuits.

I’m not saying don’t do it, just don’t fool yourself into thinking it’s some radical work. It’s not.

“Did you ever say Yes to a single joy? O my friends, then you said Yes to all woe as well. All things are chained and entwined together, all things are in love; if ever you wanted one moment twice, if ever you said: ‘You please me, happiness! Abide, moment!’ then you wanted everything to return!” - Friedrich Nietzsche

Also, hanging out with rich people sounds cool and intriguing - until you actually do it and realize they’re some of the most insufferable people on earth, especially those born into wealth. Their aura of superiority and condescension is unbearable. All they care about is how well they were born and raised, their manners, and whatever is deemed "appropriate" in their family and social circles. They’re practically soulless.

I can respect a self-made person, but even then, once wealth reaches a certain level, you can bet it’s just a narcissistic psychopath acting out unresolved childhood trauma.

Well that's fine and all, but there's not a single soul that's actually rich on this forum. To become rich (to even have a chance, that is) you'd need to get completely immersed into what you're doing to get that wealth, leaving you with no space for anything else, so much so that it'd change you fundamentally. You'd also need to become a kiss ass to a certain group of people you are trying to extract money from and wear certain masks because of that (since it's always other people giving you the money, they don't fall out of the sky so you need to impress these people and provide them value) and get rid of anyone or anything standing in your way. People who care about spirituality would realistically never go throught this process.

Even to just get and mantain a certain job, you need to change the way you behave and think just so that you can become a good little cog in a machine and have an income. Never mind trying to become rich
