How is your sleep?

14 posts in this topic

How is your sleep? Do you have a sleep schedule? How many hours of sleep do you get each night?

Do you stay up late or wake up early? Does anyone here have a less conventional sleeping pattern like biphasic (siesta), everyman, or uberman?

Do you feel well rested when you wake up? Do you build up sleep debt? Do you sleep with the TV or lights on, or listening to podcasts?

I typically try to get a solid 8 hours, but that doesn't always work because my cat wakes me up in the middle of the night. He can be a bastard. Then I go back to sleep after a short period of being awake. Sometimes I can't get back to sleep right away, and I sleep longer into the next day. Sometimes I listen to a sleep hypnosis/talkdown (by Michael Sealey or Jason Stephenson, or others) to get back to sleep.

I need to work towards waking up earlier, as I have a new work opportunity starting soon, and I will need to wake up around 4am each day. I will have time for a nap for a few hours in the middle of the day at my new job if needed. To fix my sleep schedule I will force myself awake an hour earlier each day until I am at my target goal of 4am, and will take melatonin at night to signal to my body its time to rest. I will try not to nap, to make sure I can get to sleep earlier at night.

I'd love to hear how everyone here approaches their sleep and how your sleep is :)

My average is about 6. I probably have some form of insomnia cuz even after a 4h night of sleep I sometimes find it hard to fall asleep. 20 min naps and creatine help a lot.

Shit, or rather "short". I've been spending the last month working until like 7-9 PM, eating "dinner" at 8-10 PM, then working out, then eating again, and then it's like 3-4 AM before I'm in bed and I'm up at 7-9 AM. But that's what I gotta do to get 90 participants for my study when my advisor hasn't yet given me bachelor students to work for me 9_9 (And it's not like spamming surveys on internet forums like I did for my bachelor's; it's running ads, updating them, scheduling meetings, doing the meetings, giving the participants surveys, screening them based on the surveys, measuring their brains pre and post study, emails, etc.).

Brutal! I used to only get about 4 hours of sleep at night. On days off I would sleep for like 12-15 hours straight. I respect your hard work!

How’s that working out for you anyways? I’m curious - what strategy has delivered the best results so far?

Abide, moment!’ then you wanted everything to return!” - Friedrich Nietzsche

Years of heavy smoking caught up with my lungs, and at some point, I developed mild sleep apnea. Switching to nicotine patches helped (though being on stimulants 24/7 isn’t exactly ideal for sleep in either case), and after dialing in everything I could on optimal sleep, my sleep score is back over 90% - even on „just“ 7.5 hours.

Pretty happy with that.

Ads like you suggested 🥰 (Meta ad campaigns).

My ads have 50% lower CPC than similar campaigns (it's about 0.11-0.15$ per link click). I have met and measured 22 participants, 20 more are scheduled next week (but the drop-out/exclusion rate for scheduled meetings is about 15-20%). Only yesterday, I got 5 new meetings scheduled and it was only 5 PM. I need 30 more participants before March 9th (3 weeks and 1 day from now). Also, some interesting things might be happening next week which I might share later.

I didn't get to thank you yet for the idea, but I was planning to do that soon 😝 So thank you 🙏🫡

A bit choppy, and sometimes it's still pretty hard to fall sleep, I have a lot of bad dreams and wake up tired.
But at least I can consistently sleep again for a few weeks now and that's a life changer, I must sleep 5 to 7 hours most days.
I guess I'll still have trouble sleeping or not be able to sleep at all if I'm traveling or something like that, but a little xanax or aswagandha should do the trick, if i have access to it.

I usually have an antihistamine when i travel, because it is available without a prescription everywhere in europe, but it turns me into a robotic zombie. I hate these drugs.

Sounds good! Always happy to help.

I snore sometimes, and my father has sleep apnea, so I think I might have it... I used to smoke too. Do you feel like you are ever not well rested despite getting enough sleep? What determines your sleep score? I'm curious what stimulants you are on besides nicotine as well. When I did adderall, my sleep was heavily disrupted. I'm happy your sleeping is better now.

My sleep the past year has been shitty due to serious health condition flare-ups, but has recently been getting better as my condition has been improving.

My sleep is bad, but I try to improve. I work remotely, so it's a little bit hard for me because during the day I can go out, so stuff, work a little, and then I have to work later at night. After work I want to watch/read something, so I go to bed at 2-3 am, and wake up at 9 or 10. So, it's bad.

And because of some health conditions I don't sleep good, but I try my best to improve, and I did it once already, so will do one more time

The secret to good sleep is, I would say 50/50, good sleep hygiene not medication or supplements, and a developed ability to detach ; Even though it is in a different context, the advice of Neville Goddard that I recently discovered on affirmation helped me.

Less than a year ago I could do up to 3 sleepless nights in a week, a few weeks ago I was still doing up to one, and since then I have not slept less than 4 hours and it is mainly my fault. It is incredible, I spend most of my days reading, cooking, and doing sports; In a few months I will take a job, maybe even before, and I am not even in heaven.
