Adhd isnt contagious. xD

When you never thought about having adhd and you the symptoms dont match your lived reality it's unlikely that you have it.

It's 50\50.😁 I have impatience, problems completing the given task, easily distracted. But some of these symptoms has almost everyone!!!this is reason why I am not sure.

Don't be afraid to be unsure. It can have a tremendous lever on your life to consult a professional for that and in general with every kind of neurodivergence. ADHD and other genetical (and epi-genetical) conditions can slowly ruin every part of your life. And because it happens so slowly, people will stay in this dilemma often way too long. And of course, because its labeled with a socially negative stigma, from neurotypical people, which have no idea about what it really means.

I'm pretty sure I have it. I work to strategize around it but it always creeps in.

But I can be pretty laid back and chill/introverted so I think a lot of people mistake me for not caring about them/the task at hand.

I tried meds for it once and it made me feel incredibly sick.

I have researched this topic extensively and therefore have strong opinions on it, but remember that this is just my opinion.

In my view, ADHD does not exist and any mental health diagnosis is just there for the doctor to bill. Yes, many people have trouble focusing on tasks they don't want to do, but that just means you don't fit into this sick world we have created.

However, I understand that most people want or need to fit in to some degree so they can achieve the goals they have set for themselves. ADHD medication can be very helpful in this, but is by no means the solution to your problem. Taking this stuff every day like a robot just because the doctor prescribed it is foolish. I think it's best to take it a maximum of 3 days a week (less is better) and on those days you can get all the work done that you normally wouldn't be able to do. And on the days you don't take it, look for ways to build a life where you don't depend on any substances to function and be happy.

The bottom line is that a "functioning and happy life" is fundamentally depended on the right balance of brain chemicals. And in a healthy human no earthly intelligence could arrange this balance better than our intrinsic life-force.

But many artificial factors are at play presently. And therefor many artificial problems. Which can, in some cases, only be solved with artificial solutions. Since "the world out there" isn't going to change just like that.

Yes, I agree. But in the long run, the price you have to pay for this is too high in my opinion. That's why I said you should keep looking for better, healthier long-term solutions. And while you're at it, you can keep taking your medications.

What I was mainly trying to say is that you shouldn't blindly trust your doctor on this matter. He doesn't really care about you... and he wouldn't give his own children this stuff every day, I can assure you.

I hear that a lot about doctors. They seem to have a bad rep among many.
And there is some truth to that. But I just want to point out that the opposite error can also be true:
In that, that people reject any kind of conventional approach „as just some grift designed by the pharmacy companies, and that it was never about the patients.“

But after having endured tremendous physical trauma, depression, adhd and addiction I can say that there are a lot of powerful conventional therapy out there, that can’t easily be substituted.

We can only pray to the gods that we have functional anti-psychotics and medical opioids at our disposal. Without them many people would live in the sub-realms of the deepest hell you could imagine.

It’s all about the appropriate use of any therapy at the right time. Without excluding any approach per se.

Of course, I don't deny that they can be helpful. However, I observe that most people blindly trust them and end up disappointed. I have worked closely with many psychiatrists and therapists and it was an eye-opener for me. None of them were conscious people, they are trapped in the academic world and see people only as their work. I think someone like you is better off trusting only in themselves. That doesn't mean that you can still get help from others.

@Grateful Dead By the way, how did you get that animated profile picture? Are only mods allowed to have good things?

No, you can have that too. There are no really cool privileges for mods.
