Video Games try to imitate life (or Reality)

4 posts in this topic

What do you think? I am learning to program some video games in Godot and other game engines.

I feel like life is a game. We imitate what happens in Reality with our video games, also with movies, etc... art is life.

Not sure if this topic if for this part of the forum, but just wanted to know what do you think about it and share POVs.

I realized some more things... I remember now... one is that sometimes we feel that life is difficult, I always wondered. Why sometimes things are complicated? If I am GOD then I can do it easier...

but look at the games, we build them with difficulties, if it was easy it wouldn't be fun... I think that this pattern is repeated in real life too.

Same as other games, like soccer, sports... we practice them because it requires effort, soccer you can't touch the ball with your hand.

We could it in a way were you can do whatever, but it would make no sense. So the difficulties in life are there so we can grow.

I had a time in my teens where I loved video games but hated real life. Then I thought to myself that life is simply a way more complex and awesome game then any video game and so it had to be my own way of looking at the world that must be wrong.

There’s a book that I would like to read that I feel it has to be with this called

The Game of Life and How to Play It

Written in 1925

I’m not sure if it’s a good book but definitely the title sounds interesting.
