A Christian "defends" his belief about God

48 posts in this topic

What I find interesting in this short is that the Christian gets angry by the atheist's "accusation" about how the Christian is a Christian because of his geographic location.

Leo mentioned in his "How To Distinguish Lower vs Higher Perspectives - Part 1" episode that lower perspectives are distinguished by emotionality. Is this, in your opinion, a case of a "lower" perspective, because of the emotionality?

The Christian seems "intelligent". He has a "crowd" supporting him.

@Davidess Hes gaslighting. he knows if he was born in china he wouldn't find Jesus. I think he is faily intelligent in his other speeches but you can see he hit a nerve.

The stats speak for themselves. Just look across the world and see what people worship based on their geographic location. All the beliefs and world views and practices. All instilled, programmed and conditioned. Not because they thought it through because there's nothing to think through. If they really thought it through, they would probably realize there's nothing and nobody to worship in the first place.

What you know leaves what you don't know and what you don't know is all there is.

That is some top-tier self deception. Great find.

Yes, I've been seeing this guy often in my Youtube reels. His arguments tend to be pretty non sensical a lot of the times, but how can they not be when you're trying to defend something so indeffensible as Christianity. It would be the same thing as defending Islam, or any other religion. That is not to say that he is a stupid guy necessarily, but you can clearly tell he has to delude himself to a significant degree in order to mantain his christian beliefs

I even faintly remember one of his clips where he was trying to explain why God let Jesus die on the cross, it's because it was supposedly a just thing to do because the penalty for evil is death (I guess he meant the evil of non believers?) and Jesus paid that penalty in a form of crucifixion, because God is just. Just think about how non sensical this sounds

Some of his arguments that there has to be an inteligent creator because we are an inteligent creation (by "we" I mean everything) are fairly solid, but the thing he doesn't understand is that, why would that creator be some sort of personal entity that cares about us specifically, and cares about our well being, even building places such as "heaven" and "hell" for us. It cannot possibly be a personal entity but he has to believe that, because he's a Christian

Of course its one to say that the reason why most or a lot of people christian is because they were indoctrinated, but there is a seperate question whether there are good reasons to believe that Christianity is true or not.

But regardless, this line of attack can be used against divine hiddenness. Why is it that the Christian God made it 10-100x harder for certain people to find him and to even  have a chance to believe in him? (and of course there are those rare cases as well, where people don't even have a concept of Christianity, let alone have a chance to study it and then after that believe in it)

No, that's just people who live on Actualized.org ;)

I use to think Christianity was nonsense.  Ironically, it was Hindus who convinced me there is something to it.   The Hindu saint Ramakrishna actually became a Christian to see if it works and verified that it can lead all the way to enlightenment.   The part of Christian dogma that I still think is false is their claim that they have the only true path.  Hinduism teaches there are many paths up to the top of the mountain.

I'm amused by the Christian Pseudo-Intellectual arguments that all morality sets are from indoctrination, yet the fear of suffering such as from eternity in hell is assumed to be natural. All of following Christianity is based on avoiding hell, can someone fear suffering without Christianity, if so, can't they then also understand morality without Christianity given that morality is based on not causing suffering. If someone cannot fear suffering without Christianity, then why would non-Christians need to fear the suffering of hell, given that they don't understand suffering how would they suffer if they don't even know suffering. Either people naturally understand suffering and therefore morality, therefore they don't need God, or they don't understand suffering and therefore need not fear the suffering of hell, either way God has no purpose other than a scapegoat for community leaders.

In reality what's being defended is one's ignorance, not because of the content itself but because it is something believed! Whatever it is.

Better to acknowledge that, and move on.

@Elliott JP was completely lost in that debate and was just throwing shit against the wall to see what sticks.

He utterly failed to make a case for objective morality.

1. Most of the Christians say they believe in a Christ not because they believe in a Christ but because of their fear to lose their soul if they go deep inside themselves and confest that they don't.

2. This Christian guy seems like a moron, not being avare of a simple trigger connected to his deepest belief and still acting like he knows a lot about himself.

3. Why does his body language saids something so opposite of "turn the other cheek" as Jesus was teaching?

There are sheep and there are goats. I will be a sheep no matter what time or place I am born. Your mileage can vary. Thank you for eternal life Jesus. I didn't choose you, you chose me, as you aptly remind me in scripture. Do not ask why. I am saved for being ok with what I don't know not for what I do. Form is impossible to understand. Everything you see and say is a lie.

Would God be happier with us if we worship no God, given that we've not been presented with convincing evidence, obviously anyone would believe in God if God were revealed to them. Or would God be happier if we accidently worship the wrong God, possibly even leading others to the false God's teachings, in a desperate attempt to please God and avoid hell?

God isn't a person or a thing or what you think. God is beyond what you can understand with a mind. That's why one needs help. Jesus said, the kingdom is within you. Be thou a lamp unto thyself. Looking without for signs and symbols leads to destruction. Nobody can tell you the truth. You are the way the truth the life. Nobody comes to the father but through his child. You are that child and its love for you is more than you can fathom. Wrongness is impossible for truth cannot mix with false. Darkness doesn't exist. Verify this by shining your own light and see for yourself. Jesus was the first to do so but all are the same and we can do as great as he did.

Do you not believe in worship or doctrine?

Is the following not "looking without for signs"?

Worship and doctrine are mind control perpetuated by people believed to know better than I do. I have the Holy Spirit which is my Higher Self as my communication link leading me to carry out God's will. Worship is role-playing that another is more worthy than me in God's sight and doctrine is merely beliefs unproven as yet to be true. All I need is trust that I am safe and loved and in God's hands.

I don't follow Jesus, I thank him for being the first to walk the walk. How could God regard one son higher than another? Would any parent do that? Jesus proved once and for all that death is nothing and that hell is nothing but repeating death after death. He tells me to live like he did and his help is always available for the asking.

So by God do you just mean a purpose to life, or how do you try to describe it? Is your perception of God just a hopeful belief, faith, or do you think it is a matter of fact and certain?

How does believing in this God affect your life?

God is whence I come. God is the oneness that you and I are. God is the creator, the cause of all and the changeless center of eternity.

God is not a belief. God is not an idea, God is not a form. God is the only reality there is. The timeless unwavering Love for all in all and to all. God is in front of your eyes every moment but you choose to see what you want instead.

For me my job is to focus on God not the illusion and the illness and desperation of those around me.

When I become a light unto myself then I will shine a light unto others so that they too might waken to the truth.

If any of this is resonating, check out Jesus' latest communication known as A Course in Miracles which jibes with most of what I say; Christians won't appreciate however.
