Ceremonial cacao?

Are the psychoactive effects real? How strong are they? Can it be combined with weed or other psychedelics?

Would love to hear any experiences

Yes there are some effects.

In pure cacao there is a substance called "Theobromine" which has mild psychoactive effects and is supposedly linked to promoted heart health.

Among many other, more subtle effects.

From personal experience I can tell, that in most cases its just a better form of coffee. Because it provides a smooth, heart-opening wakefulness. Without the stress and nervousness of coffeine.

In some of my ceremonial cacao sharing I even got the feeling of being on MDMA or similar psychoactives.

But you want to make sure you got a solid source of actual ceremonial cacao and drink about 30-50g per serving.

From my personal view I would say its psychologically safe to combine it with weed or some psychedelics. Just don't drink too much at your first ceremonial servings.

Cocao and Mushrooms synergize very well. 

Also with other psychedelics it seems to work fine. But be aware that a good amount of cacao is dehydrating you. 

 

For the cacao itself. I find that there's definitely a subtle shift in consciousness, but not much stronger than a good green tea. Not even close in intensity to a proper serotonergic psychedelic. I still love cacao. 

 

Also contemplate: Where is the difference between ceremonial cacao and other 100% pure cacao?

Update: I did the ceremony with cacao and smoked weed before and after.

After the ceremony there was an ecstatic dance with some guys playing on drums and damn, I felt like I was on a low dose MDMA. I just immersed in the rhythms of the drums and I couldn’t stop dancing. I felt immensely blissful and I had so much energy my feet were kinda moving on their own haha an amazing experience.

i did a cacao ceremony like a month ago and yea, its basically like a natural mdma trip

i absolutley loved it
