A million American lives were killed in a year from a pandemic, meanwhile Trump was telling people to eat lysol and inject horse tranquilizers. Oh and like a miracle, it was just going to disappear one month into the pandemic, according to him. 

Americans love having stockholm syndrome I suppose, why else would they vote for that type of governance yet again so soon.

fundamentally I think a lot of it is just low IQ.

I see so many people regurgitating Trump word for word without any ability to analyze things, and come to their own conclusions.

In an ideal world it’s completely possible for meta and google to implement controls for fake vs real content. But no these billionaires decide to bend the knee and remove all censorship policies. Fake content and the speed at which it’s served to so many Americans is the biggest issue, because people think that they know fully about something before all the facts are released. The lack of regulation over the content spread on social media platforms is killing our society.

I don't think the problem is fake content. I think the problem is that social media companies prioritize profits over truth, epistemology, and health.

It is because they prioritize profits that they feed people content that confirms all their biases, creating epistemic echo-chambers.

Makes you really think about how much goes on behind the scenes that we never know about when we fly..and how much we rely on the air traffic controllers in the background.  It's actually amazing this doesn't happen more often with the chances of human error being out there.  Because of the fact that there could be helicopters or other aircraft n your airspace when landing is scary.  Apparently the day before another plane had to abort landing because of a helicopter in the air space.  Someone has definitely been screwing up somewhere.

That's plain to see with alcohol companies  being allowed to constantly advertise the most deadliest drug out there on a daily basis in such a sinister way to make it look appealing and good so it can feed their profits.

They don't care how many people end up dying from alcohol.   Trump's own brother died from it and yet it is somehow glorified in this country.

This is why things like DOGE are so dangerous. What conservative mouthbreathers a fail to realise is that running modern civilisation requires a lot of tireless, boring work that can’t easily be solved with a new app or some “entrepreneurial spirit.” 
 

We rely deeply on public services, even just for our very physical survival. It’s foolish to defund those safeguards (unless you enjoy seeing your grandma die in a fireball falling out of the sky, of course.)

Banning ads for it might be good but people would still drink.
