RFK Jr getting grilled at confirmation hearing

Bernie is one of the few people in Congress fighting for ordinary people and more affordable healthcare.

The reality is that if you are in Congress you will get some dirty money to some extent because the system is so corrupt you couldn't get there otherwise.

So it's all about relative degrees of corruption, and also about what your worldview is. The problem with RFK is that even if he was not corrupt, his worldview is still corrupt with false ideas of how medicine and science work.

A person who means well, but has false beliefs is still very dangerous. Anti-vaxxers have good intentions but their worldview is so out of touch with reality that they hurt people. Similar to Communists.

What do you guys think about that?

It seems deceptive when Bernie says "not one nickel of PAC money from the pharmaceutical industry, they came from workers." + talk over RFK to try to make him go silent & then, when RFK continues to press on the issue, Bernie admits to be "the single largest accepter of pharmaceutical dollars. $1.5 million."

I thought I liked Bernie but this seems to be a big minus point for his integrity.

Idk much about it but Kyle, who follows all this stuff for a living, says it’s false.

Of course he has a point.

And Hitler was a vegan.

This is a great example of how misinformation works, by telling half truths.

In fact Hitler was vegetarian, not vegan.
Sounds totally unimportant

Now imagine the same little differences in political discussions...

He didn’t get dirty money, those were donations from workers in the field

A thing that i like about RFK is that allegedly worms ate a part of his brain. Yet he still might get such an important position in the government as a brain damaged guy. It’s very inspiring.

In the 1960s, autism was considered extremely rare, with estimated prevalence rates of 1 in 2500 to 1 in 10000 children.  The CDC estimated in 2023 that there were 1 in 36 children in the US diagnosed with autism.  Even better diagnostic criteria doesn’t account for this.  When RFK, Jr. gets to the bottom of this it is going to destroy the “I am good” image of the politicians who voted against his comfirmation.  This is their real fear.

For the record, I’ve got autism and I love getting all the vaccines recommended to me. Vaccines make me happy.

The notion that he will get to the bottom of anything is laughable.

Tulsi is so evil but she turns me on because of it. It feels so wrong, I think I have some shadow issues to face

According to Anthony William the cause of autism is deposits of mercury and aluminum in specific areas of the brain which hinder communication between neurons.

@Leo Gura

I understand why you’re skeptical, and I respect that. But looking at where we are now, it’s hard to argue that our healthcare system is working. We spend more than any other country, yet chronic disease, obesity, and mental health struggles keep rising. The same people who built this system keep defending it, even though it’s clearly failing millions of Americans.

RFK Jr. brings something different to the table. He’s spent his career challenging corporate influence in government, exposing how industries—from pharmaceuticals to food—shape policies that don’t always serve public health. As HHS Secretary, he wouldn’t just maintain the status quo; he’d push for more transparency, accountability, and a stronger focus on prevention—cleaner food, reducing environmental toxins, and addressing the root causes of disease rather than just managing symptoms with endless medications.

I know he’s a controversial figure, and I don’t expect you to agree with everything he’s said. But I do think we should be open to leaders who challenge a system that, by almost every measure, isn’t serving us well. If nothing else, we should be asking—can we afford to keep doing the same thing and expecting better results?

At this point people are so desperate for change.  They would rather take Trump, RFK, and Tulsi under anything but the democratic people.

California the democratic center of the country is poorly managed and if the entire country were ran like that, it would be disastrous.
The republicans aren't progressive enough but if they can return America to what it was in the 80s and 90s most of the country would be happy.  Not that it was great back then for some classes of people but the debt, cost of living, and cost of homes is more devastating for most of America.  Sure it sucks for LBGQT but people have to understand they are a minority demographically.  And stupidly it seems like its the only thing the democrats are passionate in which is not enough to sway the country.

There needs to be a third party that is real progressive and believes in universal healthcare and willing to be less forgiving of criminals. At this point Trump, Tulsi, RFK are offering something different.  This is how most Americans see things which is why Trump won so easily in the election.
"Enlightened" people do not wish to get involved in politics so the country will get a narcistic president.  For every inaction there is in the conscious, the unconscious will take charge.

If you aren't empowered in an area in your life, someone else will take that power from you.

I'm not even sure people need a change as much as theyve been convinced they need one. There was somewhat of a disconnection between politicians and the public but then I would say Obama, Clinton and even Bush to some extent were actually able to connect quite well, Hilary is the only recent president or should nearly president, that didnt connect that well.

What I think has happened is the right, actually the further right, Christian theocracy type, has done a really good job at demonising the left. The reality is things like Trans issues, DEI, LGBTQ, dont really affect the average american, esp trans as that population is so small my guess is most americans have not even met one, let alone have them compete in their local sports team. But the fear of it is so outweighed with the reality and honestly its incredible marketing from the right. It taps into fears of an America that is now unfamiliar to many. Immigration as well has been exaggerated so much with claims of criminals coming over, the reality is America wont even function without this working class of people as they will soon find out.

So them rather taking people like Trump, RFK, Gabbard is a purposeful thing, as in if we can scare you enough, you will think that these people should be in power because theyre offering a solution (even though its not a solution) to the problems that theyve exaggerated. Trump saying theres no only 2 genders, literally changes nothing but it makes supporters feel as if hes handled that 'problem'.

So in one way you can say well played to the right, but it is completely devilish behaviour, unfortunately people have not really got to grips or understand what putting these people in power may lead to and sometimes we need that lesson. Its like going back to your toxic ex over and over, America is going back facism and they will do probably until it nearly kills them.
