Does anyone have experience using AI for therapy/shadow work?

Yes and no depends on the level of consciousness of that person, someone who is closer to me can actually start talking about "deeper stuff" relatively quickly without much precedent, as there will be a mutual "recognition" happening. Though like I said this is extremely rare for me and also doesn't last if the gap in understanding is still too large.

Notice I did say "mostly", so there could be exceptions. But overwhelmingly it's what you might call "healer types".

Otherwise I am in a healing position, whether the other person is conscious of this or not, but I would know.

Do you want to bond over your traumas? I don't think that's healthy foundation for a friendship. Friends can be supportive in your "healing" but their not therapists. That would make the relationship one-sided and its not what friends are for.

A "healer type" is getting something out of talking about your traumas, like the opposite of a parasite. They are like the little birds that pick crocodiles teeth. They are not necessarily your friend if they have no interest in spending time with you otherwise.

@Ulax I think I would like to try that with claude. I already had good results from analyzing my trauma responses. I have gained some excellent psychological insights by combining my ideas and art about self love with the knowledge of the ai.

If I can't do it with claude, I will try ifschatbuddy if it's free.

I tried ifs buddy. I had some good insights. In this case we discussed the protector and I am now looking for other family members.

I use it for “compassionate enquiry “ sessions with good effect.
it doesn’t do the work for me rather it acts as a sounding board to bounce and explore ideas off. I give it the basic breakdown of patterns and emotions I notice and it restructures the write up more concisely for the understanding of the client.

everything at the moment is online back and forth chat but once I develop the method more, I’ll move to face to face or live call sessions. It also helps when I do it in my own shadow work.  I have a daily jot where it updates and informs me when patterns emerge.
