Not necessarily. Untruthful and insincere things can be said in a fit of anger. Anger speaks out of hurt and often tries to say anything to hurt another, without any consideration for truth.

@Leo Gura Thank you for your decision and your explanations. I think the situation was handled in a very respectful and sensible manner. I also experienced disrespect and aggressive talk from him while I wasn't provoking him at all, and I couldn't make sense of why he was a mod. It was affecting my view of the community's standards, since I couldn't understand why such behavior, especially from a moderator, was allowed and not called out. It is a huge relief for me that the issue was addressed.

Yeah but those things are based on an real observations. Like that "whore" remark, for example.

And what was he hurt about anyway? He's been abusing his mod position for a long fucking time now. Yeah he gave good general advice here and there but it was mostly just good sounding gibberish masking itself as some deep wisdom. And he often accompanied this "advice" with various snarky and smug remarks, questioning your actions, your manhood or whatever. Even questioning your sexuality. Never gave any actual game advice because then it would be obvious he wouldn't know what the fuck he's talking about. Giving people warning points or temporarilly banning them for banal reasons, just to assert his imaginary power and authority. All of that written in a broken south european english. Imagine after knowing all of this about yourself, the fucking ego and lack of self awareness you'd have to have to be pissed off after being demoted. Like, come on man

He felt his effort here was unappreciated.

He has a unique worldview and style, and he thought it was an effective way to communicate. Clearly it wasn't but he did not accept that reality. So here we are. It is easy to get blinded by the strength of one's own perspective.

I try to select the most mature and wise people that I see here. But over years their behavior can also change, as was the case with NoSelfSelf. His behavior seemed to devolve over the years, or maybe I just didn't know him well enough from the start. Frankly his case is so rare I've barely had to deal with something like this before. People here take this forum for granted. They post everything it comes to mind without thinking that their replies could actually cause harm to others. Even if someone is a "Pussy" as Noself said you won't make that user be more masculine by talking like a jerk to him. We should try to be more understanding of others. Me personally if I think I can't help somebody I keep my mouth shut.

My theory is that he was a normal self-actualizer in the beginning, then he had some awakenings, then he went off the deep end and started to bypass practical reality. Very easy to do when you have your first few awakenings. 

I really wouldn't know how to predict who will fall into this trap in the future when you recruit a mod. Maybe you could set higher standards for existing mods relative to bypassing? Because if @NoSelfSelf really was as good as you're saying he was, it's possible that just educating him about this issue of bypassing may have helped him improve as a mod.

People do change over the years, and sometimes for the worse. The mind can gradually become more lost in itself and unhinged, for many reasons.
