Share Your Big City Success Stories?

I'm getting disenchanted with my city of 50k , but I'm locked in for one more year to finish this degree. What are your big city success stories? Did you start game in your small/medium town/city? Did you notice a dramatic improvement when you moved or visited a big city? 
I'm thinking Austin would be a good place for me to move, it has the tech industry I'm looking for and seems like there's a bit of the southern hospitality I'm used to. Any Austiners here killing it?

My city is 500k plus started to see massive resault when i stopped being a pussy thinking that city is the reason im failing but me.

No emotions just pure motion of self belief.

50k is barely a city, more like a town lol. Definitely aim bigger.

If the city has nightlife you'll be fine, otherwise you'll struggle.

I actually managed really well in a city with 100k. It has some advantages. It's usually cheaper. For example, this city had two decent clubs and I lived like 30 seconds round the corner from the entrance to both. It would be unbelievably expensive to live that close to the centre of nightlife in a big city.

Idk how to stop being pussy. My last two pulls came to me . Wish I went to them but I wouldn't have done shit if they didn't make the first move.

The total metro is 10x that so there is definitely some decent night life but maybe I'm just too pussy. I suck at approaching, maybe what I'm looking for is an environment I feel more comfortable approaching in. The Deep South doesn't feel very inviting.
