Should LGBTQ+ couples adopt a child?

12 posts in this topic

The controversy around adoption by LGBTQ+ couples often revolves around these points:

Child Welfare: Critics sometimes argue, without evidence, that children need both a "mother" and "father" for healthy development, though studies consistently show children raised by LGBTQ+ parents thrive just as well.

Social Stigma: Concerns that children may face bullying or discrimination because of their parents' sexuality.

Moral Objections: Some people equate LGBTQ+ parenting with promoting a "non-traditional" lifestyle, sparking ideological disagreements.

In contrast, advocates argue for equal rights, emphasizing that a loving and stable home matters far more than the parents' gender or orientation.

What do u think? Good or bad?

My take : it's okay, if done properly.

There are many people that have children that shouldn’t have them. Our standards for who can have children is pretty low, so many grow up in toxic households. The gender of the parents is not a concern imo. Children need love, safety, guidance, support etc and they can get that from whatever gender

No. It's unnatural

The nuclear family at all is unnatural. In the wild humans would have been raised by a tribe or village. You wouldn't have to worry about "crazy mom" if you didn't want to.

Uhmm... okay? Even if that was the case (and first of all, you should show me some evidence for that claim) what does that have to do with homosexuals raising children being unnatural? Where exactly in nature have you seen this happening? LOL

Monogamous nuclear family is absolutely necessary for the stability and survival of our civilization (unless some wild and radical technological changes happen) so it is natural for us in those terms. And men and women (or male and female species I should say) getting together and raising children together is also natural and readily seen in nature. So that's 2-0 in terms of naturalness in favour of "man + woman" type of system

It means heterosexual nuclear family is also unnatural, and that the unnaturalness is either a deeper problem than you realize or actually literally just isn't a problem.

It's not necessary for the stability and survival of civilization, it just happens to be the case.

Well, it's a naturalistic fallacy, and based on stupidity. It's like you don't even know evolution exists or that there are principles higher than the physical-biological.

Well I think you are very delusional. LOL don't really know what to tell you. You should observe how normal monogamous relationships work versus how all these other alternatives work, in the real world, get some common sense and then come back here and tryna be slick with me

you are a nincompoop, and that's it

You don't even understand the human nature pre-civilization Edenic Adam and Eve thing, let alone the future of humanity, or basic logic or understanding of literally anything at all.

Also if you are literally a New Kids On The Block fan then that is the worst issue with you.

The appeal to nature fallacy is a logical fallacy that occurs when someone assumes something is good or bad because it is natural or unnatural.

Would you rather be raised in a orphanage or from a loving lgptq couple?
To be honest I don’t even know why a heterosexual couple would be much better other then that I am used to it.
