Is travel a complete waste of time?

@Salvijus I was half joking. Maybe I do need a life purpose or something.
Have you found your life purpose and are making a living from it?

My passion is related to spirituality and conciousness work. I see myself becoming an energy-spirit type healer of some sort, I'm not quite there yet to make a living out of it but I'm still young. 27yo. Things are unfolding very nicely tho in that direction.

To me having a serious life purpose seems so rare

I feel like it should be natural for everyone. It's not something one has to invent, it should be in your DNA itself. Sometimes traveling gives an opportunity for people to discover their deepest longings when they're no longer constantly distracted by survival drama.

Imagine for a moment, dear friends, that you are Conciousness, and that you have only this one awareness - that you are at peace, and that you are.

@NewKidOnTheBlock what I meant was that I’ve got enough money for a deposit on a house in the UK, which means a fair bit of money. You couldn’t buy one outright unless you were a millionaire. I’d be paying it off over 30 years.

Ok, so that's a whole other thing entirely. Then I would probably travel if I was your age, why not. Life is short

Just make sure your future is financially secured. Don't just blow away all the money. Invest a portion of them somewhere

If you could travel frugally (and live a fairly frugal lifestyle in general), then who knows, those money you've saved might suffice for a very long time

It reminds me of Hajj in Islam. A few people in my neighborhood went to Makkah to perform Hajj and also Umrah.

But after they came back, it seemed like nothing had changed—their character, habits, etc. Mostly, it just changed how people perceive them and gave them a new title.

For me, traveling gives new experiences, and I often reflect on some of what I did while traveling and the things I learned from it. It also helps improve skills—like my driving skills, how I talk to new people, visiting new buildings, and so on. There’s a lot of practice that’s more effective than just reading about it in a book. So, it’s worth investing in. It all depends on how you travel—whether you waste it or use it.

I’ve never been outside my country at 28, but I have plans for the future. So far, I've been exploring other cities in my country because there’s still a lot to discover here.
