Money: Stage Green Shadow

10 posts in this topic

I have been noticing some very strong Stage Green Shadow, well, funny thing, I wasn't aware of it till recently. Perhaps, it's my mellow lifestyle, I live close to the equator as well.

Here's something which I entertained very much; Jacques Fresco's ideas on World without Money, I have entertained it without putting in the effort to understand it structurally, from a meta perspective. Also been using the concepts in "Social Matrix: Society is a Mass Hallucination" to paralyze myself. And it's been a success xD.

Jokes aside, I'm looking for ways to develop my Stage Yellow, and I find it extremely "tricky" to get a grounding on my Yellow qualities on the social side of things; everything related to the social matrix, including money. It's not so much that I don't know what to do. It's more of I am pulled back constantly by the shadows; old habits, worldviews, unconscious beliefs, and people, most of which I've managed to "see" successfully.

I'm 22. Right now I have the means to work on myself, to build a life purpose which isn't Orange. Approaching the social matrix and achieving financial freedom as a stage yellow is so damn demanding and difficult. I can see that much. Stage Orange ways of making money disgusts me, I have not yet grown to really see Stage Orange as "inefficient". Infact, stage yellow on a stage orange society feels like a war, the fact that I have to create value in epic magnitudes has been one of the first realizations. It is daunting. haha

Way too young for Yellow. There's essentially zero chance you've reached that high of a level of development.

Get a solid grip on the lower stages if you really want to move into Yellow.

..The thing is that it’s not just resentment towards a life-style the original inhabitants can’t afford, as is often the case when a neighborhood is gentrified by wealthier newcomers, it’s not only economic capital that causes feelings of inferiority, no, the animosity that can be felt in cities such as Malmö and Berlin stems from the circumstance that the new people have higher amounts of cultural capital. It’s a vague and often unconscious feeling of inadequacy, rarely articulated as cultural inferiority, but rather as annoyance with the newcomers’ perceived pretentiousness, self-importance and showing off, that causes what I would claim constitutes a new kind of class hate...

So, I get the feeling that most of the resistance I'm facing is more of a cultural clash.

And that combined with my own resentment towards the corruptions and compromises which happens within the same demographics. Just notice what you feel when hearing "Microsoft" or "Apple" or simply "Tech Companies". I see compromised innovations, lost potential, or perverted values. I kinda sympathize with them too, because they are sadly in a stage Orange Society. Remember this is me looking at these through the lens of "GNU/Linux" and Open Source values. Infact these days even the Linux ecosystem is getting corrupted by govt funding, banning Russians and other shenanigans.

Most modern people move through Purple at a young age. You may not even remember it, depending on the culture you were born into.

Nice that the links offered some clarity and new nuance inputs. For me I see this Gentrification where I live. i live in a Tourist Destination and the Real State market is dominated with North Europe buyers making the cost of Living high to many locals. Of course one can take advantage and earn upon this, but still the local culture is slowly shifting to accomodate more of the Foreing than to the local. We see this happening in many places and is a natural phenomena of change. But there still consequences on socioeconomics.

It's a lot more complicated than that. 22 is just fine to be yellow, or turquoise. Imagine what humans will be like from a 10,000 years from now. Don't limit yourself.

BTW, ever stopped to question the structure of Spiral Dynamics?
Don't you think it's extremely biased and reeks of stage Orange influence?

It's not a co-incidence. Spiral Dynamics is made to account for Systems in the society, not individuals. We risk so much inaccuracy trying to set SD as the only developmental path for "individuals" in the society. Plus, it's born in a stage Orange society. I bet if a stage Green-Yellow society created this, and let's assume, Orange never existed to begin with, SD would have different biases, and even more nuanced self perpetuating levels.
