I’m scared

Recently read a story of a legal Puerto Rican veteran being detained by ICE. At this point I fear that any body of color will have their citizenship questioned, and being a person of color I do have my own paranoia. I feel like just to go to the store I need to be vigilant of my surroundings. I was born here to parents who had become citizens by that time. As someone from a south Asian background, should I fear my safety?

Be vigilant but stay calm. Make sure you have your ID (and perhaps a copy of your birth certificate) with you at all time. I am not going to sugarcoat whats going on in this contry right now. Things are bad with the potential to get much worse. I think rhetoric towards minorities and immigrants will grow more severe as Trump's policies grow more unpopular and he has less successes. They're going to need a scapegoat and distractions.

Got my passport card in my wallet at all times, as well as my global entry card. My god what our country came to

Don't let anyone bully you. Fuck em. All minorities (people of color are the global majority by far) need to stand up against this shit once and for all. This white supremacy has gone on far too long

He wants to kick out all the colored meanwhile he wants to absorb white countries like Canada and Greenland

Maybe America followed by western powers have to stop meddling in political affairs in the global south and fuck up their economies/stability. Then maybe you want have as many migrants desperately trying to run away from their war torn nations. Oh and climate change is just going to make this worse. Oh boy we are cooked. Going to a hell of a ride 😬

I think you don’t have to worry but i understand your fear.

I think depending on Trumps “success” here a similar thing might happen in some European countries. Like Germany for example as Eckhart Tolle said they are a country that often goes from one extreme to the other.
