What will be Biden's legacy?

Although Professor Lichtman incorrectly predicted the 2024 election, he provided valuable insights as a US historian on how President Biden will likely be remembered and his lasting impact on the country:

Honestly, I think he will be remembered as the last President before the dictatorship (that could last for many generations, if we survive that long), and that he could have done something (remember the president having complete immunity to do anything they want started under his term, so he could have stopped Trump and put him in jail), but chose to willingly turn over the country to MAGA/Christian lunatics/Oligarchy/Greedy monsters that will destroy the country and maybe the world. I'm being 100% serious, I think this is what he will be remembered for. He will be forever tied to giving Trump the keys to the world and with those keys he will do so much damage there may be no coming back from it. Thanks Biden for playing by the rules, in a war that has no more rules.

Being sleepy and old? People have such surface level interest in politics. Like what is Obama's legacy? Being black, Obamacare and drone striking a bunch.

Trump is a far more important figure in terms of his impact on the country so Biden will be remembered in the context of Trump.

Biden is the guy who served between Trump's 2 terms.

Senile old man whose petty ego got in the way of the safety and sanity of American democracy. If he had let someone else run from the beginning, the Democratic Party would have had more time and leverage to identify and attack republican policies. But no, instead this stubborn man decided to run with the clear sign that he is not doing well, and completely shat himself during all the presidential debates.

I get how angry some of you guys are about Biden for trying to run for re-election. Tragically, he is and will continue to be blamed for paving the way for Trump's return to power.

Obviously, a big part of why Biden wanted to run for re-election was because of his ego.

However, I don't think that Biden was being extremely selfish firmly believed that it was because Biden really thought that he was the country's best shot of defeating Trumpism once and for all given that he was the only person ever who ever defeated Trump before.

I really thought that he could've defeated Trump had his party united behind him. He was the incumbent president and incumbency advantage and if you look at historical precedent incumbency has always been a tremendous advantage, especially for the POTUS.

Also, the rest of Democratic leadership including Pelosi, Schumer, Jeffries, etc. should accept their real share of the responsibility for their party's loss in 2024. They too are also at fault for ruining it all.

In any case, what about how extraordinarily well he governed the country as president?
