The Darkest Side of Human Nature Thread

Hey Everyone

For the past month I've been doing a deep dive into the darkest and most deprived sides of human nature through documentaries seeing as an understanding of this is part of the work. The topics include and not limited to:

murder

rape and sexual exploitation

human, drug, organ, weapon trafficking

con artistry

bullying

corruption (sexual, financial, religious)

cults

dictators

child soldiers and civil wars

cannibalism

racisim, sexisim

suicide

genocide

torture

hate crimes

gambling

animal abuse

 

I have created a comprehensive list and have made it a collaborative ao you can add more to it. Feel free to add your suggestions of things I could be researching regarding this subject and things I may have missed on this list. Will add more videos to it with time.

If it's documentaries you want to share, that seems acceptable.

But don't share like gore porn. Stuff with more substance to it is okay.

Post some examples of what you mean and I'll double-check it.

Good. I've done a deep dive into this stuff around 15-18yo, before any spiritual work and such, it now informs a lot of my experiences profoundly. I don't have a reference list of materials, but could unearth a good chunk fairly easily, a lot stays in memory forever Should this gain traction it'll be a fine resource for integration of Love.

If you don't want to, fine, but no need to ask someone why would they want to. Only a closed mind asks questions like that. Your mind is the one that made the distinction between these contents and others. You say "that content", what content? The answer lies only within your mind and your perception and how you view those contents. Now it expects everyone else to do the same. Life doesn't work that way.

Those things exists and life is neutral until we start to do our own interpretations and how we see what is. I know you meant well, as I used to be the same way, but I've learnt exactly as I've explained above that it's me who thinks it's any better not the reality of the situation and was only looking to control a certain part of life for my own benefit. Such delusion I realized. Now I train the mind differently so I see life for what it is more than how I'd like it to be and to be ok with that.

have now edited my original post with the playlist. Will be adding more videos in the days to come. I am only able to share docs on youtube but the highest quality are documentaries and movies not on youtube and often paid such as Leos suggestion of the Bibi tapes. You can find them if you search for them online.

Shoah is a genius level 9 hour documentary about the holocaust with in depth interviews where survivors describe in grousome detail what happened in the concentration camps and how the holocaust happened.

Another gem is the 1985 Soviet film Come and See. It's not a documentary but it's apparently quite a realistic depiction of war, with no glorification or hero stories. If I could have every human watch one film, it might very well be this one. Not an entertaining or fun experience, but all the more important..

@TheAlchemist Thank you for sharing, both look really interesting, especially that 9 hour doc! Another no BS movie is Beasts of No Nation about child soldiers. It's on Netflix for those interested.

To execute a captured prisoner of war who has surrendered or a soldier trying to surrender, deliberately and not by accident, is a violation of the Geneva Convention.

 

 

We're getting to the point of this war where all concern of truth, international law, human rights, the Geneva Conventions, etc... has all been thrown out the window and disregarded. 

When survival gets tough enough, people will start treating these international treaties on human rights as toilet paper.
