He had an alcohol problem too.

Seems RV's make him a lot happier 😊

How do you even qualify a proper awakening?

I thought it would be permanent.

Nothing lasts forever.

Emotions come and goes. Well, everything comes and goes!

I think for me personally, I accept whatever comes up. I don’t think it’s possible for a human to live in permanent anything forever.

Except death, you’re all going down :P

He found what makes him truly happy. Find what's yours and make it happen. For me, I've always been into music. So I thought I should get back to my musical creativity and get into creating music instead of just being lazy and listening to it. So, I got myself a MIDI keyboard/synthesizer and I'm loving it.

The Buddha found something that transcended death. That is what I thought I had found. But of course, what I found was beyond thought, or the intellect. That's why intellectual discussions about consciousness completely miss the point.

Maybe I am spending too much time looking at the finger that is pointing, rather than looking at what the finger is pointing to. Haha

Yes, but instead of jumping into giving advice, he had faith.

Also, cetus was talking about Steve-O in his last message, not me.

What makes me happy is interacting with other human beings,

But it also has a tendency to make me miserable.

Recently I have just been completely avoiding people for that reason.

I don't like the fact that my happiness can be so affected by others.

Hence, wanting to achieve a state where I am happy regardless of outside circumstances.

I should have sold my soul for money when I had the chance. Awakening is the biggest disappointment ever. Screw those ivory tower gurus

You've been officially notified! When you allow others to steal your happiness you enslave yourself to them. When it happens again, it's on you. Notice I use the word "when". Can't change the world but you can change yourself.

I am attempting to achieve unconditional happiness which does not depend on anything external.

I achieved it for a few weeks 6 years ago.

I can't understand why it left me. I thought it would be permanent.

But for those few weeks I was in pure ecstasy and bliss.

You can not attend it, you must die and only Be.

@TruthFreedom If you've had a proper awakening you're no longer set by the boundries of your ego but free to do whatever you want.

The anehedonia part could be some emotional resistances that come up. Try finding a practice that deals with it.

@WelcometoReality He could without realizing it be pacing himself because he needs to burn off some past karma.

Yes. He could also be distracting himself to not having to deal with it at all.

That's why I mention it. Better now than him realizing it when it's too late.

* I agree with your statement, find a practice that deals with it. Brutal honesty would be a good place to start.
