With an air of truth to it.

Is comedy the Truth?

Think about it...

My life prior to this thread was a tragedy.

Now I know it is a comedy!

Have you seen the second movie? It turns into a tragedy again, or a really dark comedy.

They still do sometimes.

Testicles, as well as toys.

@TruthFreedom It's easy to fool oneself, what's the nature of your enlightenment?

I know it's easy to fool oneself.

But I genuinely achieved enlightenment,

I was laughing hysterically, saying "oh my god" over and over again.

I had been meditating non-stop for weeks.

It's easy to assume that some random guy who has an alcohol problem cannot be enlightened,

But that is a very unenlightened assumption.

Maybe. It's like a counter-enlightenment, it's just very dark and there's no redemption.

What was the consciousness about?

I have had full-on awakenings where I was laughing my ass off.

I was not under the influence of psychedelics.

This was about 6 years ago, and it was an amazing time in my life. But enlightenment does not create permanent happiness. If anything it makes you more isolated, and unable to relate to "normal" people and situations.

I never made a big deal about my enlightenment. I told a few people and they probably thought it was the rambling of a madman.

Since then I have had two suicide attempts, experienced psychosis, and struggled with alcohol.

Currently, I don't enjoy what the world has to offer. I live an ascetic, contemplative life. I don't have many friends. It's not depression, it's more like anhedonia. That's why I drink sometimes, because I can enjoy things more.

I always imagined that enlightenment would lead to permanent happiness, but as you can see, this is not the case.

I wonder where I have gone wrong.

If what Leo says is true, then I am one of only about 10,000 people on the planet who have awakened to this degree.

I wonder what I am supposed to do next.

Do you know, the one who is experiences the statements above is illusion itself, in the first place?

It was experiencing consciousness in it's purest form, separate from matter,

It was becoming God,

Hence the repetition of the phrase "Oh My God!!"

Best experience of my life ;)

It was multiple spiritual orgasms.

You get what you think.

You may have awakened but based on your lifestyle it seems like you are not wholly integrated back into your humanity and society. Feel the resistance and essential pain. There may be something you are avoiding to be with and allow yourself to be with.

See, based on your post, it seems like you are not totally fine with your current situation, or at least some part of you. Maybe the awakened part is at peace but another part senses that something is not quite right. Otherwise, why post and ask. So see what that part of yourself that is uncomfortable or in resistance to the situation is feeling. Regularly relax deeply for many hours. Lie down and allow. Disregard the thoughts, feel below them. Stay with that energy. Be in pure awareness of those sensations and don't shy away from any uncomfortableness or pain that may be rising to the surface.

@TruthFreedom

We tend to over estimate our level of awakening.

Awakening isn’t the only aspect of human existence. If you study Integral Metatheory by Ken Wilbur in his book Towards a Radical Wholeness and Leo’s video on developing happiness maybe that would give you some maps and models.

Awakening is important, but a sober mind and well developed life is the foundation for lasting happiness.

Perhaps enlightened to a degree… but unwell.

Perhaps there is more practical work to be done for your happiness.

I am attempting to achieve unconditional happiness which does not depend on anything external.

I achieved it for a few weeks 6 years ago.

I can't understand why it left me. I thought it would be permanent.

But for those few weeks I was in pure ecstasy and bliss.

Errrr, no.

I was saying something that would resonate with him.

There are infinite ways of looking at the movie and it doesn't have anything to do with thought.

He's doing what works for him. It's all good.
