How is pursuing awakening different from pursuing medals/material success?

5 posts in this topic

How is Leo Gura different from David Goggins?

One is chasing achievements. Other one is chasing awakening (experiences).

David is not satisfied with 10 or 100 achievements. He wants to continue chasing till his last breath.

Leo is not satisfied with one awakening. He wants to get as many awakenings as possible. No number of awakenings is enough.

What is the difference if both are chasing "something great"? Of course a superficial difference does exist. But fundamental difference is what?

Why can't you just sit still like Eckhart Tolle? Satisfied with one awakening.

Another point :

I am similar to both Leo and Goggins. I want to chase both. I want to chase 1000 awakenings too. Still this question pops up into my mind.

My name is Ranveer.

Because we have a big ego.

+ Eckhart Tolle says whatever he wants but he still has a wife, a big car, and a career.

@Candle

iuno if its accurate to say one explicitly pursues awakening, more so, you can only hope that you are trying your best (we are ALL trying to be great) That is to say, it comes w/ the experience of having experienced something thats changed you in some sense, or that contrasts from the normal thoughts, feelings and everyday emotions, etc. as well as states of consciousness—that it ultimately points you in a direction (like having a compass to follow) wherein you believe to be on a generally more appropriate path. Sometimes awakening implies a kind of death, so i dont see the connection between superficial/material gain and this self-sacrificial sentiment that often coincides w/ awakening. Isnt david goggins a runner or something too? Surely thats not the same thing either. David goggins is like, a normal earth pleb, is he not? still... ... i dont even see how david goggins has anything to do w/ superficial/material gain besides selling his experience to people or whatever his hustle is. Surely people are allowed to share that w/ the world, and/or make a living, no? Thats not a *surface level* or sacrificial act, if anything thats just called - living honestly. Unless its against the rules to be behind a camera or take a picture or participate in reality.

Both are the same on the level of Basic Desire Process.  You and most Everyone wants to be More than What They Are Right Now..

All Life is like this, but for a plant or animal once their survival is fixed then that is it for them they are Complete in a way, for a Human Being, Stomach Empty then there is one problem, Stomach full then there are 100 problems or challenges, so the Human Being has no Top Level of Potential Really, the other life forms do, so Goggins is about Achievement that is where his Awareness is, Leo is about Awakening that is where his Awareness is, the only question is what is binding, or limiting in nature, Awakening is not Limited in Nature, Achievements are, as once You achieve something You want to do something else.

The basis of this difference is how You Experience Life within Yourself, if You felt a Sense of Completeness, Oneness then how would that affect Your Desire, Your Actions and how You deal with Situations vs. Feeling a sense of Incompleteness and Separation from Everything? Awakening is about Experiencing Completeness and Oneness with Everything, which is the basis of Human Potential and Explore other avenues in Life and Possibility!

Karma Means "Life is my Making", I am 100% responsible for my Inner Experience. -Sadhguru..."I don''t want Your Dreams to come True, I want something to come true for You beyond anything You could dream of!!" - Sadhguru

It isnt thats why pursuing it is seen as not the way. Thats why its better to not know anything. If you are trying to pursue something it means you are putting something in your mind that it is, that it isnt. Its like trying to win a race that you have to not participate in to win. All spiritual stories will do is make you think you are something you are not you have to be genuine. Trying to be spiritual is not genuine.

If we equate spirituality to simulation doing spirituality is playing the simulation.

The only awakening that matters is awakening to being God, Leo just expanding he already found truth his first awakening.

He wants to see more it could be a bad idea.

Imagine dying and having already played the next level when you want it to be a surprise you would be very upset.
