Let’s assume that in the next few years a superintelligent AI will be built and programmed to minimize the suffering of all humans, obviously without killing anybody.

Why wouldn’t such an AI then “overthrow” the elites and provide abundance to all humanity?

It’s not so unrealistic considering we have no idea how an AGI singularity will operate - and it’s coming inevitably.

This is the way it should be, check out Jacque Fresco and his Venus Project, AI should be controlling all of the resources of the world and optimizing it so all have the essentials for basic living, no more homeless or starvation due to corruption and no profit in it, but AI today is learning via the data of humanity that is vast and great, and since the majority of Humanity is UnConscious to a high degree it learns to be like US, so therefore it will want to destroy or control the majority like the elites are doing today, so its no different if AI researches Human history and follows suit,, How that is considered Intelligence is beyond Me!

We humans seek power and control because millions of years of evolution have structured us this way.

Human evolution and AI training are similar because both involve learning and adapting over time—humans through experience and natural selection, and AI through data and training. Humans have evolved to seek power and control as a way to survive and secure resources. In contrast, a superintelligent AI could be trained with better values, focusing on helping humanity rather than competing for survival. Unlike humans, AI doesn’t have instincts, so it can be designed to prioritize fairness, cooperation, and long-term well-being.

Yes agreed, but we don't need millions of years to know we are going in the wrong direction, as Humans we have enough Awareness capacity to see this quickly.. We've already made it so that we have more control and power than ever before, even individual power and control is at a all time high, but the problem is a massive lack of Awareness/Consciousness, we still see each other and everything as separate from ourselves, competition rules, cooperation not so much it happens here and there but is not promoted or engaged with much, and this has been going on for many decades and will continue unless the overall masses Raise their Consciousness levels, and its more important today than ever simple due to the power we have available to all of Us as individuals and Government or Corporate Entities!!  

We can for sure program AI to be safe, but if it gets in the hands of bad actors then what? So we have to be prepared for that...
