Getting diagnosed with cancer at 27 years old

28 posts in this topic

Hello, this is hard for me to write because I’m still in shock. I just got diagnosed with germ cell cancer this Wednesday and I’m still trying to process this. I do live a good lifestyle for the most part. I don’t drink, smoke or do any kind of drugs. While my diet is not perfect, I don’t also eat junk foods everyday and do eat healthy foods almost everyday. I actually have been soda free for the last 8 years. I exercised almost every single day and I’m at a healthy weight, I’m far from being overweight. I’ll most likely have to do chemotherapy in order to get rid of the cancer.

how can I use this experience to growth myself spiritually and also do things to make this healing process much easier? Right now I’m trying to meditate deeper and trying to reflect and contemplate more on life. On the choices that I have made and the things I can do. I always heard about breathing techniques that can help with healing as well a diets, but I’m pretty ignorant on what those could be. I know these changes will have to keep going even after I manage to beat this disease. I have realized now that maybe I took life a bit for granted even though I thought I wasn’t. Once I get a second chance in life, I know things will be much different and I know this could be a good opportunity to make an even more radical change. Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this and look forward to reading your responses.

That's a difficult challenge but you seem like you have a good head on your shoulders and will make the best of it.

Health challenges can grow and mature you a lot. They tend to strip away the fantasies real quick.

Hang in there and keep us posted.

Have faith. I hope you win the battle in the end and get some growth & maturity from it. (as Leo said).

When I vividly imagine death, I get some maturity to focus on things that really matter. But I forget this truth in everyday life.

This post was a reminder for me too !! Thanks for reminding me.

We never understand this until death actually comes right in front of our face.

Don't think it's because of something you've done, food or whatever, at 27 it's purely fortuitous, call it karma if you want. sure you'll heal because this cancer has a very positive forecast, and this experience will make you grow enormously.

@Adventure seeker Hi I really don't know what advice to give you, I wanted to show some love and give you courage.

The only thing I've noticed is that from an energetic perspective cancer is a very different process than other diseases. Usually you need "healing" energy for recovering from an ailment, however not totally from cancer as such healing will feed almost indistinctly to both types of cells. What is needed is the "war" energy, the strength, courage, perseverance, warrior energy; to win the battle. Given that you posted in the spiritual section, I wanted to give you value in this regard. So of course focus on Self-Love and Self-Healing, but cancer seems to need tons of power and resilience as an integral pillar for returning to homeostasis.

Also consider that many studies have shown that people who survive from cancer find a greater joy and contentment with life. Everything is put in the correct perspective and order of priorities, they usually say.

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty. We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Virtuous and Conscious. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life God is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, ... Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God

My great grandfather had cancer. A terrible disease I’d wouldn’t even wish on my worse enemy. From the bottom of my heart, I’m wishing you strength, love and compassion.  Your journey will be extremely difficult, but hold onto the things that matter the most to you. And ensure you have a good support system by your side. Don’t expect perfection, especially when going through chemo. You may find yourself more easily irritated and snapping at the people you love. Have patience with yourself and keep in mind that we as humans are flawed. And you are allowed to be angry, allowed to be scared, allowed to be depressed. I invite you to feel all these emotions genuinely and as raw as possible.
please keep us updated on your journey

wishing you the best

Damn. Sorry to hear that bro. Sounds super difficult. Connect with high quality people on the forum for support.

Chemo is highly effective and depending on your cancer type, you could get cured and look back on this experience in 20 years and think "this experience was the single most vital experience to my lifes fulfilment."

Don't let the mind jump to extreme conclusions. My granda got cured of cancer. He didn't even use chemo.

If your strong enough you could even use this experience to face certain possible eventualities head on. But this would require strength and be careful not to overestimate your own strength here. Let me just say this, what we imagine certain experiences to be are extremely inaccurate and what society has called the deepest and worst possible events...are actually not.

God is your ultimate friend and ultimate protector. And man, if we're going to be honest...there really is nothing to fear.

Your story has just dramatically changed, you could be an incredibly powerful force for helping others in despair. They will respect you 1000x more. You could change lives even just by posting on this forum.

Hey. I read that a long water fast can be really good for cancer. The first thing I will do if I get diagnosed with cancer is go on a 10 day no food fast, fuck everybody else and what they say. Just me, water and rest. When you have cancer the food you eat goes straight to cancer cells and that's why the first response of the body is to lose appetite. The body is trying to heal itself but doctors tell you to eat because most cancer deaths occur due to starvation. But starvation occurs due to the fact that all calories you consume get rerouted to grow cancer cells. By fasting you starve cancer cells. It makes sense - if there's no food how can cancer cells grow? They can't. I actually made some research about it a while ago and put it in my Zettelkasten. Here it is below, I hope it helps:

----

My [[Algorithm Алгоритм]] for treating cancer:
* Right after diagnosis - transition to whole plant-based food and water only  fasting.
* Limit calories to 250 calories per 24 hours, until symptoms improve.
* Minimum fasting duration - 41 days

There's a [[Nutritionfacts.org]] podcast on cancer and fasting:

* 50% of men in 50s and 60s have microscopic prostate cancers
* 100% of us will have microscopic cancers in thyroid by age 70
* [[angiogenesis]]  creates cancer
* blocked angiogenesis prevents feeding cancer
* [[late stage cancer is when cancer is most likely to be diagnosed]]
  * antiangiogenic treatments target growth of cancer vessels. Cancer vessels are poorly constructed and are vulnerable to treatments that target them
  * [[diet accounts for 30-35% of environmentally caused cancers]]

This is a great idea.

I've done a 12 day water fast. It's challenging but doable.

Water fasting is extremely challenging if you're skinny and dont have much body fat. Make sure to at least supplement with electrolytes. I did't do that,  and by day 4 I felt like I would die at any moment. I think having a nice reservoir of body fat allows you to fast for longer and therefore you get more benefits. Personal opinion though.

Good to know, I've never done it

In 12 days I lost about 10 pounds.

Most folks got 10 pounds to spare.
