I know its details well: it includes the release of hundreds of murderous terrorists from prisons, the return of Gazans, including thousands of terrorists, to the northern Gaza Strip, withdrawing the IDF from the Netzarim axis, and returning the threat to the residents of the encirclement - thereby effectively erasing the war achievements that have been achieved with much blood by our fighters, so far, in the Gaza Strip.

The problem is the finance minister said he will leave Netanyahu’s government unless he continues the war but while blocking aid and using heavier weapons, and if he leaves it forces israel to have an election and if Netanyahu loses he goes to prison.

But if it does fall through the part of the Israeli public who wan the deal may go ballistic and if Trump blames Netanyahu for it failing there is no telling what he’ll do.

I think Israel will find a way to keep bombing and so on. The Zionist project is not stopping. They are just doing political manipulations to fool people. They are not honest actors interested in peace or compromise. They will do and say whatever to advance their agenda.

They can only do it with US permission. But some reporting indicates Qatar and Abbas got on Trumps good side so they may be able to talk him into stopping them.

Most Israelis, as they watch this circus in disbelief, are imagining the pain and fear experienced by the hostage families. But in Jerusalem, Netanyahu seems to be focused on something else: his own political survival. 

He worries that the far-right parties led by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir will quit his governing coalition because of the deal. He's doing everything he can to convince them to stay. Without them, he will lose his hold on power.

What the two messianic extremists are demanding is simple: to end the deal before the implementation of its second phase, which is supposed to include the release of men under the age of 50 currently held by Hamas. 

This phase of the deal is slated to begin 42 days after the cease-fire comes into effect, and should also include a final and complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. Smotrich has announced that if it is implemented, his Religious Zionism party will leave the government.

Netanyahu is caught between conflicting promises that he made to Smotrich, Trump and the hostage families.

He promised the families he would bring back all the hostages, not just the 33 who are included in the first phase. 

He promised Trump to finish the war in Gaza so that a normalization deal with Saudi Arabia could be fast-tracked. 

But now, under pressure, he also promised Smotrich to renew the war after the first phase – a move that would lead to the sacrificing of the remaining hostages, and could jeopardize Trump's Saudi dream.

His best way to deal with this problem is to simply play for time: implement the first phase, while promising Smotrich to blow up the second; promise Trump to work on the Saudi track, while preparing his supporters in Israel for the impending renewal of the war. 

At the same time, he will continue to tell the hostage families that he's committed to bringing back all their loved ones, contradicting his own commitments to the far-right parties in his coalition.

His best hope is that Hamas will provide him with an easy way out of his own web of lies. He will try to help bring it about, with deceptive leaks that could encourage the organization's leadership to break the terms of the deal. Then, he will be able to give Smotrich the renewal of the war and his government will live another day, while Trump and the hostage families will have to deal with his explanation that "It's all Hamas' fault."

If it depends on this government especially in its current composition I agree.

Without Ben Gvir and Smotrich parties, and surely with an oppositional government this would be an entirly different story.

There may only be temporary breaks from conflict but there will never be a permanent ceasefire until the conditions (occupation and denial of sovereignty) cease to exist - which necessitate resistance to those conditions.
