How is Being Social Considered Selfish?

In Leo’s recent video, he pointed out the conforming to social structures is a sign of a lower perspective, and that this is a survival mechanism rooting from selfishness.

 

My question is how can caring about the people around you in a social situation be selfish? Seems counterintuitive.

Yeah and you might have noticed that people that talk to you are like on "auto-pilot", the talks are all about this world and mostly simplistic. I think neville goddard said something simillar like , don't bother with others they're just a mirror showing you who you are. 

I noticed when you engage with them it actually brings you down more vibrationally to their level or this realm in general. Then you might witness something that you don't like or whatever and your mind starts creating a story around it, changing these people behaviour and it's all coming from you.

 

I've already tested by putting my ear on the neighbours walls, it's all coming from you or your mind. That's why being conscious of  emotions/thoughts is so important.

@Jowblob Fascinating. Are you saying your reaction to people’s presence (whether they are aware of you or not) affects their behavior? Like your emotions direct their consciousness?

I see. I wonder what happens when you have a conversation with somebody who themselves is awakened? If you aligned your thoughts and emotions in their presence, would you direct their actions too? Sorry for all the questions, this is just very interesting to me.

Seems like a valid point. You can join a community which is focusing on helping others and adhere to their ways of life for practical reasons such as better efficiency and coherence. And it will be not in pursuit of survival. But in pursuit of love.

So there's a misunderstanding of what he said.

The topic is social conformity. To follow a specific groupthink methodology unconsciously because it suits your survival agenda. It is a low consciousness because you are unconscious of your own Survival agenda and how it's playing tricks on you. And how you're attracted to all the things that suit your own Survival unconsciously. Which of course leads you down the path of untruthfulness in everything. Because what suits your survival is rarely true, you're just biased and you cannot see your own self deception mechanisms. Fooling yourself into thinking you know what is true.

• Basic emotional responses are largely learned through early family dynamics, like whether crying was met with comfort or punishment shaping our relationship with vulnerability.
• Our "personal" aesthetic preferences often trace back to what our early environment celebrated or dismissed, from music tastes to ideas of physical beauty.

Even if it is a positive emotion, your ego is relying on that dopamine hit for selfish reasons. But maybe I don’t fully understand yet.

Desire to be happy is not a survival instinct, it's a desire to be infinite, like God and it comes from god itself.

Even survival is not antithetical to truth. Fear of death is not the only motivating factor to survive. You can live driven by love for life and you'll survive perfectly.

Caring about people isn't the issue. The issue is when you care about a small tribe of "your" people at the expense of everyone else.

And also the issue is that by socializing with them you fall into group-think, not thinking about reality on your own.

You not only get corrupted by survival and ego, you then get corrupted a second time by social survival and collective ego. So you are doubling up on survival bias.

I see, there is a nuance between social structures and socialization, thanks for clarifying.
