Suchir Balaji, the 26-year-old OpenAI researcher-turned-whistleblower, was found dead in an apartment in San Francisco, US last month. His death on November 26 was determined suicide by the San Francisco medical examiner's office as police found no evidence of wrong doing.

Balaji, who left OpenAI in August, has spoken out against the artificial intelligence company's practice of training the chatbot on copyrighted material scraped from the internet very openly in recent months. The artificial intelligence (AI) giant has been fighting several lawsuits relating to its data-gathering practices.

This is most likely a murder. What do you think about targeted assassinations against individuals possible overseen by the govt? 

His paper claimed that OpenAI's chatbot's responses was in violation of the copyright law and he seemingly proved it in his paper. 

Few weeks later he was found unalive in his apartment. Thoughts?

@Bobby_2021 what's up man, about to watch this .. you really think its a murder? What frustrates me sometimes is not being able to figure out what is true and what is false. I listened to 5 minutes so far, and the mother seems very well versed in these matters, and it definitely doesn't make sense about the suicide (no suicide note, super accomplished dude) .. but why in the world would Open AI have him taken out? Just doesn't seem convincing. Not sure

Hey bro been a while isn't it.

Most probably because he could have dealt a sever blow to OpenAI on the legal front and its not looking good for them. I am speculating too, but vibes don't lie i guess lmao

@Bobby_2021 yeah lol long time .. and I just saw the full thing, there's just too much evidence to conclude that this is not suicide, likely a murder of some kind .. I think its def more than vibes although yeah the vibes suggest murder as well lol .. Its just so hard to believe a company like OpenAI would do that. It seems she has a lot more investigating to do, so maybe we'll get our answer soon.

@Jayson G OpenAI is not just a private company anymore. They are closely working with the govt. So the consequences are going to be real. 

Sam is not a good guy overall. And the paper has devastating consequences for their business.

@Bobby_2021 thats a good point, I actually completely forgot they're tied with the government. In that case, its equally possible that the government had something to do with this instead of OpenAI. Regarding the paper, I think its not revealed yet right? She mentioned there was a document, but I think she said (the mom) that they are yet to look at it or something?
