French millionaire woman scammed out of almost $1M by AI-generated fake Brad Pitt.

"Fraudsters have scammed a French woman out of €830,000 by making her believe she was dating Brad Pitt. The victim has faced an onslaught of online harassment – revealing quite to what extent empathy and human decency is in short supply when it comes to people falling for AI scams.

An AI-generated con featuring Brad Pitt is causing quite the stir in France.

A French interior designer, known as Anne, was scammed out of €830,000 after she was duped into thinking that she was in a relationship with the Hollywood actor and that he needed money for cancer treatment.  

The 53-year-old's story was broadcast on the French TV show Sept à Huit on TF1, where she disclosed being scammed by individuals pretending to be Brad Pitt. They used fake social media and artificial intelligence image-creating technology to craft an elaborate and heartbreaking swindle.  

In the episode, Anne shared how she received a message from someone purporting to be Jane Etta Pitt, the actor’s mother, telling her she was exactly the woman her son needed. "

 

 

"Soon afterwards, she started to receive messages from what she didn’t know was an AI imitation of Brad Pitt. Anne was going through a divorce with a millionaire entrepreneur at the time, and over the course of a year, her ‘lover’ would send declarations of love and even asked her to marry him.  "

 

 

"Once the link of trust was established, then came requests for money, as the scammer began to send luxury goods to Anne as gifts. However, she was told she had to take care of the customs bill – which for one handbag was reportedly €9,000.  

When Anne’s daughter warned her mother that she was being conned, she said: “You’ll see when he’s here in person then you’ll say sorry.” 

Eventually, AI photos were sent showing Brad Pitt in hospital with kidney cancer. He needed money for treatment, with the excuse being that Pitt’s real-life ex-wife Angelina Jolie had frozen his bank accounts. 

Despite Anne’s doubts, she was reassured by the fake star’s “doctor”, who emailed her explaining Pitt was fighting to survive. It was then that Anne transferred around €800,000 to an account in Turkey. "

I have a great story about something similar which happened to a lady I met in a hostel in Bangkok. Bit long, but here goes...

She was at least mildly schizophrenic, which was a shame. She seemed totally normal at first, and then she kept talking about how she'd dated someone in Hollywood so she 'knew how that world worked'. I didn't pry at first, she was very pretty and it seemed believable. Eventually I got curious enough and asked. And she told me she had dated Brad Pitt. Lol.

Then she kept talking about how she had the 'best pussy', and that made 'Angelina and all the other bitches and sluts' jealous. Then she said that something had come between her and Brad and so they had to break up.

I thought that was the end of it, but no. Next day she started telling me that Elon Musk was messaging her. He was coming to meet her in Bangkok, but he got detained in the airport and all of his assets were frozen. At this point I thought she must have realised it was a scam, but no. Elon Musk needed $600 to get out of detainment in a New York airport to get on a flight to come and see her. I tried to convince her not to send the money, but low and behold, she did.

Then the flight got delayed. Funny that. And she got angry and started telling me about how amazing her pussy was again. And how he was missing out. At this point I assumed she was trying to flirt with me in some weird way because she kept repeating that phrase 'best pussy', and talking about 'wanting to make him jealous tonight'.

She just kept ranting on and on and on, she started talking about how the US government were after her because of her Instagram posts exposing conspiracies. How she'd been MK Ultra'd. And then she'd randomly throw in absurd sexual comments every few minutes. I was flying home the next day so I really needed to sleep, but she would not stop talking even if I didn't reply.

Eventually I pretended to be asleep, and she just kept talking. For hours. Until like 2am, even though I was literally lying there with my eyes shut saying nothing.

Finally, she decided that in order to make Elon Musk jealous, she was going to go out to a rooftop bar in Bangkok and have a great night by herself. She put on a red dress that looks like something you'd expect a movie star to wear on the red carpet. Then she left the room, and on her way out just said "I love you so so much baby" to me, shut the door, and I never saw her again.

She's probably the most schizophrenic person I've ever met in real life. But she was also extremely switched on when we talked about spirituality, and she was a nice lady. I feel sorry for her being taken advantage of by these scammers. It shows you just how little morality they have.
