I haven't really had much alcohol over last decade but in the past ( teens and early 20s)  I'd say at least 6-8 shots to get into the proper mood without blackouts.

These days if I have more than 1 beer I'll feel it a bit so maybe the tolerance goes down with age especially if you're someone who doesn't drink at all.

Its not like you're missing out on anything although funny enough my wife and I got together and started dating when we were both a bit tipsy, 14 years ago, so it did help to break the ice eventually

Everyone experiences alcohol differently. Just because it's that way for you, doesn't mean it's the same for everyone. Even being drunk can have different effects for different people.

The body doesn't need much in the beginning; but after awhile, it will need more to have the same effect and more and more then it goes back to where a little bit will make it feel drunk because of the overdosing.

@Princess Arabia do you drink?

Yes, been drinking for awhile now. I've worked in bars for awhile. Don't drink at home, only out. If I drink at home, it's because I'm headed out and getting a head start. Lol

I prefer to drink a little when working. Makes the experience go by easier and more fun. If I'm not drinking when I'm out like that I don't want to be there because I'm not really a bar person. Maybe because I've done it so many times, it's quite boring for me. I'm speaking about work now. I'm very rarely at a bar if I'm not working. Drinking makes the time go by faster. I drink red wine and on a few occasions a shot or two of something, maybe tequilla or brandy.

Try wine next time. It's more classy. Doesn't taste that bad. Kinda meditative even.

@Salvijus i don't think I will want to try anything for a long time now. I hate feeling nauseous.

Although yeah, the taste was a disappointment for me. I expected it to taste kind of sour, soft, and refreshing. Like a lemonade but with less sugar. Instead, it just tasted like alcohol.

Wine is just grape juice. You'll like it. Cider is pure bs. That I can understand.

My theory is literaly the only reason why alcohol industry is even allowed to exist and prosper, despite providing absolutely zero benefits and only downsides. Is that it seems like it "works" for extroverted people.

It works just as well for introverted people. And introverts need it more.

The point of alcohol is to help people loosen up and enter a social state which is otherwise hard to enter sober. It gets you out of your head.

Wine is gross.

Vodka cranberry is the way.

Alcohol, in moderation, can be a useful social tool. I learned 'how' to relax and have fun by getting wasted, and now I can reach that state without alcohol. Living life with a stick up your ass like I did for my teen years isn't much fun.

Looking back, the amazing experiences I’ve had while drinking feel worth it, even if they theoretically cost years off my life (though I doubt I've drank enough to actually cause that). Your body can handle it in your early twenties, but problems arise if you keep it up as you get older.

@NewKidOnTheBlock Your not a weirdo, i am in the same boat. Alcohol just does not work well for me too. It only made me more shy and insecure, then when i am sober. I am generally more confident sober.
