Homeless, Need some Guidance

30 posts in this topic

Hello.

Im facing homelessness the last 6 months. Got kicked out by my family without a warning.

Anyways, ive managed to survive and even find a job. But currently i am not working. Mainly because most jobs here are super toxic and not worth it.

For example, i went for a job interview at a kiosk nearby. The owner wanted to hire me. But the car pollution at that spot was scary.. The owner also was a smoker.

Nowadays i survive on the food i get from a church. Which is just one meal and most times its just some type of carbohydrate with a bunch of oil.

I have some skills and could work. But its not easy . These jobs are occupied by people who know people, who know people, etc.

I dont know what to do anymore. Im really getting tired..

Work in a local church. Ask the church for a job.

Cleaning jobs, they are much easier to get. Cleaning jobs inside a building or a security job near a office.

I'm extremely sorry for your hard situation.

I'm not sure if welfare is available in your country.

Please be strong. Nothing is wrong with failure. Even if you feel like you're failing, you're a great person battling through the lows of life and nothing matters. Only your life being safe matters.

I hope and pray that you come out of this and do much better going ahead. Keep strong and going. It's okay to be tired. Keep going and keep handling this low phase with grace and courage.

Blessings. Please be strong even if you feel tired. Have faith in yourself.

The universe is always understanding you no matter what and you are always loved.

Sorry to hear that.

I suggest you keep looking for jobs and think outside the box. Apply to more kinds of jobs until you find something that suits you. There are so many strange jobs out there. Something will come your way if you put in the effort to do deep research and apply diligently. Don't give up hope.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

I have tought quite a bit about getting homeless.

Do you have a red cross in your country? You can stay there for some time or for a very low payment, can you? You should look for such options

Do you have friends that you can couch surf? Don't be afraid to ask, what do you have to lose, you will find out who your actual friends are. You will have internet access to look for job and some time to look for it.

The jobs you found may be toxic, but please, consider taking them. Pollution is not an excuse for gettingva 6 month stable income and finding a apartment to rent. You can survive that. What is the alternative I may ask you? You can substitute that work for something better you may find. But after probation period do you get some health guarantees and stuff?

Also I would disown and cut all contact with my family if they did this to you. I would treat them as a stranger if I came out of this situation well. But it's up to you.

Also doing bottle deposits and stuff like that is an option to generate some income.

Church staff can also guide you. Are there unemployed courses or guarantees people can recieve?

I don't wish anybody to have this situation and I have been very fortunate in this regard, however that may change on the second part of my life as I will have literally nobody, but by that time I hope I will be reflecting enough that I don't care wether I am alive or not.

I would look for a high-paying job just to get myself a place to stay in and a foundation for something better, maybe one where you work the night shift or one where you work outside of your country, for example (like a cruise, truck driver, or flight attendant). I'm constantly getting these UAE ads for flight attendant jobs on Instagram.

I spent a few days homeless out of my own will while traveling, when I went to New York I slept at the JFK airport on a blanket, I also spent a week sleeping in my car while road-tripping from Eastern Europe to London.

The Airport was great because I could immediately recharge my devices and power banks. I didn't even have an American charger with me, but a kind man there gave me one. So networking is key for everything; don't be afraid to ask.

If I were homeless, I'd ask random people for a job around the city. Even McDonald's would suffice

Why are you discouraged by those things if you're homeless? Seems kinda weird...

Crazy that your family would just kick you out like that. I don’t know the circumstances so can’t judge but sounds quite toxic. The only thing I could say is that in the situation you’re in you can’t really have high expectations on a job you gotta kinda take what you can.

Thats great. So I guess emotionally you are feeling good or moderate. Because most homeless people feel depressed. Then the only thing that you can do is to keep looking for something that suits you physically. Best luck on your journey.

You don't need spiritual theory now. In your experience, there's likely a very solid sense of yourself, so that's that. You can pursue stuff you want.

@Applegarden8 Yea im gonna ruin my health for a few bucks. Brilliant!!

Wow, anybody that you know looking for a job please recommend them to that place. I'm sure they wouldn't wine and bitch about a condition that can be rectified by wearing a mask or just stay there temporarily while searching for another job. I'm sure you've done things that ruined your health in the past like drinking soda, doing psychedelics and have done other drugs or eaten poison on a regular basis.

No need for sarcasm when someone's just trying to help. Toxicism is everywhere and when you're down and out like you say you are, enough to ask for help sometimes we have to do what we need to do in order to get back on our feet; even if it's for a little while.

Once again. Please, evaluate the following. Being homeless will ruin your life anyway. Due to lack of hygiene, rodents where you sleep, bad habits like alcohol and drugs if you start coping with them. Bad people on the street who can rob and stab you, policeman and property guards who beat you if you sleep in the wrong public place or property like a store or a bench can ruin your life. No funds for your own personal healthcare and lack of work guarantees for health will ruin your health and definitely mental health. Irregular meals and no choice of your food habits will ruin your life. What if you start smoking yourself because you just give up. Think about this in the contrast of having some kind of autonomy by having your own income, space to reflect and implement something even while working in a "fucked up" environment. I was exposed to a lot of passive smoking, so what, it's really not that bad. Can you get cancer from that, probably, but whataboutism is a waste of time when you need to make choices that can fundementally save you from a lifetime of complete poverty and misery.

These are the few bucks you might really need. If you have those bucks, why are you not renting. I can only help you if you are open to be helped. I am again sorry for your situation.

Peace.

Applegarden.

@UnbornTao You just assume its a theory. There is not a sense of you. Only thoughts and sensations appearing.

Owner of the kiosk got his spleen removed because of his toxic work environment.

Yet people encourage me to destroy my health for a few bucks.

I stayed in that kiosk for 2 hours and i felt toxic like i was getting cancer afterwards.

Im surprised by some of the comments here..

Have faith in yourself—there’s always a way forward. If you’re feeling stuck, perhaps consider spending some time in a monastery becoming a monk. It could offer you time to reflect, learn, while living in a heathy environment. Of course, you wouldn’t be obligated to stay there forever, but it might provide some clarity and a healthy, calming atmosphere. I sense you are a kind and genuine person, so I believe they would welcome you warmly if you went to the right monastery. If this doesn’t feel like the right path for you, I’d love to understand your perspective. Wishing you all the best.

@Princess Arabia You are talking non sense.

Well, you didn't have to mention that situation then for the risk of others not understanding the direct circumstances. You have called my comment nonsense when it's from a post that has a few paragraphs in it. Even if I'm mistaken, you show no space for understanding that I may be mistaken for lack of the proper and full knowledge of the situation. Instead of calling someone's response nonsense, maybe just explain as much as you can why what was being said was not appropriate for working conditions and stress that point so much that clarity would have not been needed.

Your attitude stinks in this thread and you seem to not appreciate the many attempts to try and help. What do you really expect to happen from people who are miles away and from different countries. You say people are encouraging you to destroy your health, which is utterly insensitive to our purpose for saying what we've said as no one here knows the details. Also your comment about how you're surprised by some of the comments here, comes with a sense of entitlement and for your information, no one has to respond. What the heck do you want people on a public nationwide forum to do in a situation like this but to just give advice and information the best they know how. No one has to show any compassion towards your post, but they did; and your response is nothing short of feeling entitled to one.
