@LambdaDelta In a way, we are constantly starting anew with this work. Chances are you are referring to a conceptual grasp, which is the first step, but is rather superficial. More work is needed.

@Leo Gura thank you for this video.

I'm half way through it, but man this one is pure gold. One of my favorites already.

And also, how fucking deluded I still am. It's sickening...

Shitting in the information ecology or public epistemic pool by releasing new content every week xD. Loved that metaphor.

@Leo Gura I have a question after the first hour of the video. Given that I am an emotional creature, as part of the human condition, I’ve always believed that emotions can help in the search for truth but I’d like to hear your perspective on this. Do I need to overlook my emotions in order to reach truth, or that is there a way to seek truth with the help of my emotions rather than go against them?

🌻 Thinking independently about the spiral stages themselves is important for going through them in an organic, efficient way. If you stick to an external idea about how a stage should be you lose touch with its real self customized process trying to happen inside you.

@Nivsch You can and you will have emotions, but you need to make them conscious. You need to become conscious of how emotions are survival manupulations, and stop them from skewing your sense-making.

This does not mean you supress them or become an emotionless robot.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Thanks!
Are there situations in which emotions can actually help you get closer to the truth, rather than just skewing your perception?
I tend to think they have a function within me that goes beyond mere survival, but of course, this is my opinion and my wish about that.

Just watch it.

You'll see that this perspective of wanting me to tell you something, which will create expectations, and wanting some quick juice is a low one haha

They could help with Divine Love but not necessarily with consciousness as Truth.

Yes. Higher emotions like inspiration, love, passion, beauty, gratitude, etc can be used to motivate you toward truth and higher development.

See David Hawkins' emotional scale. The higher the emotion on that scale the more it helps for reach higher development.

But even so, you still have to be careful with higher emotions because they can and will still be used to create spiritual fantasy and higher self-deception. That's the trap of many New Age forms of spirituality.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

So is it necessary to learn all these things to the higher level or is it more about realizing your position on the knowing hierarchy. For example if I just say "I don't know" is that equal to someone having their higher perspective or is it still a lower perspective? I don't really wanna learn geometry to the highest possible level or many of the other subjects mentioned. I don't care enough at least in this lifetime

It is a nice start but nowhere close to a higher perspective.

When it comes to rocket science you can say "I don't know", that is better than saying you know when you don't, but that does not mean you are now on the same level as a rocket engineer.

There is genuine knowledge and insight. And there are stages of cognitive development which take years of effort to reach, just as it takes years of experience to build working rockets. You can't just not-know your way into making a rocket.

No, that is quite different. Part 2 of PM is already recorded. You will be able to compare them soon.

Emotions can be signals. When you feel something strongly, it’s worth exploring to understand yourself better. Emotions can point us toward deeper truths about what matters to us or areas where we need growth or healing.

And it’s important to wait for the emotion to pass first before exploring because they can distort vision.

The main thing I notice is the higher perspective is able to self-reflect and contemplate itself. However, this issue of higher vs lower becomes a gray area real fast when two people arrive at different conclusions using similar methods.

“Our most valuable resource is not time, but rather it is consciousness itself. Consciousness is the basis for everything, and without it, there could be no time and no resource possible. It is only through consciousness and its cultivation that one’s passions, one’s focus, one’s curiosity, one’s time, and one’s capacity to love can be actualized and lived to the fullest.” - r0ckyreed

I tend to think they have a function within me that goes beyond mere survival, but of course, this is my opinion and my wish about that.

They are not all just "survival manipulations", this is very misleading to me. Firstly the very notion that you have to "survive as a body" itself is a bias so therefore you cannot say that emotions you have (positive or negative) while here is strictly because of survival needs. It could be, but it could also be that you are trying to find truth of your being/truth in general.

Your true being feels very deeply and that you can feel deeply is a pathway to find truth.
