Why do I get sick every time I go back to my family?

Removing mold is very tricky - even if you get it off the walls, the spores will get into the furniture, your bed, clothes and other stuff around the house.

Your allergy to dust mites may also be connected to this; mold and mycotoxins trigger a whole bunch of chain reactions in your body and immune system.

Also, I’m not sure how healthy it is to sleep with a face mask every day…

You might want to look into quercetin and black seed oil as short term solutions (not medical advice).

Don't underestimate the effect of flying on your health (or travel in general). Being in close proximity to a few hundred people in an enclosed space will increase your chances of getting sick. Many times I've got sick after flying, and I hardly ever get ill myself.

Also look at potential vitamin deficiency, especially vitamin D in more northerly latitudes and in winter. Maintaining a base level of fitness (i.e. exercising regularly), will help a lot against getting ill.

@Loving Radiance wow, thank you for sharing your story! I'm glad to read that you managed to change and work on yourself. I understand what you're talking about when you say that with your family you get back to the old behavior and personality, it happens also to me quite often.

I don't have this kind of problem currently, I think my sickness comes from the difficult family situation I have. My dad has a bad brain injury, and everything is pretty difficult.

Yes it can be the difficult family situation impacting you.

The other opinions it being something physical like mold or viruses is also plausible.
